According to reports this week, Team Liquid is close to announcing its League of Legends roster for the next LCS season. It appears that their lineup will be up of well-known stars, however it remains to be seen as to whether the organization have found the right balance. Liquid finished second in the LCS 2021 Championship, before recording a 12th-13th place finish at the Worlds.

The LCS is well-known for its imports, with a number of the top League of Legends pro’s having joined the franchise over recent years. This trend shows no sign of slowing down, with their new-look lineup set to feature a host of freshly imported players, as well as some who have been in the region long enough to be classed as US citizens.

How the Team Liquid Roster Will Look in 2022

While no official announcement have been made as of yet, it is understood that the Team Liquid roster will be comprised of top Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau, Jungle Lucas Tao “Santorin” Kilmer Larsen, Mid “Bjergsen, AD carry Steven “Hans sama” Liv and Support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in.

Four of the prospective roster come from the LEC, while CoreJJ made his name in the LCK. However, the majority have vast experience in the LCS, with only Bwipo and Hans Sama having not featured in the region to date. Bwipo joins from Fnatic, where he had been since January 2018. The Belgian has developed a reputation with struggling to work alongside strong personalities, making his switch to Team Liquid even more interesting.

Meanwhile, Brergsen arrives following the end of his long association with TSM. It is understood that the Danish veteran was drawn to Liquid due to the prospect of competing alongside CoreJJ. Bjergsen played for Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2013, before spending over seven years with TSM.

Why Liquid Will Be a Major Force in the LCS Next Season

Liquid acquired Hans Sama following an impressive season in the LEC with Rogue, who he had been with since November 2019. As one of the best ADC’s in the LEC, the Frenchman should have no trouble in making the switch to the LCS. His partnership with CoreJJ will undoubtedly strike fear into their rivals in 2022.

It has been a season of change for Liquid, who have made a host of switches in terms of both players and coaching staff. Most recently, Business Analyst “Annibal” joined the org, with Santorin having become active back in July.
