While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has been officially out for only a few days, fans are already getting hyped about the franchise’s next release — Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, a sequel update to CoD’s popular free-to-play battle royale from 2020.

The release of Warzone 2.0 is set for November 16 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Just like its predecessor, Warzone 2.0 will be free for all players.

What’s new in Warzone 2.0?

There are a lot of new stuff and innovations coming to play with Warzone 2.0, including a new map, new guns, new movement mechanics, new features, and more.

The game’s new map named Al Mazrah features diverse geographic elements such as desert, water, cities, and small towns in a fictional region in Western Asia. Moreover, the game will introduce a new Circle Collapse feature with three separate circles that are meant to create more possibilities at the end of the match.

Warzone 2.0 will also bring back Gulag, where players will battle it out in 2v2 matches instead of 1v1. Besides battles, players in the Gulag will have other options of getting out, including looting for weapons, dealing with AI boss “the Jailer”, or incorporating teamwork with other players.

Players can also look forward to underwater combat, the overhauled Gunsmith feature from Modern Warfare II, a new DMZ mode for the entire AL Mazrah, an overhauled vehicle system, as well as CoD’s new anti-cheat Ricochet. Furthermore, Warzone 2.0 will include every single upgrade from Modern Warfare II’s engine.

Start competing in Warzone 2.0 since day 1

On the launch day of November 16th, the esports tournament Challengermode will host a series of tournaments in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 with real money prizes provided by the drinks brand Go Mate. The Challengermode weekly duos tournaments will run from November 16 onwards and will mark the first Warzone 2.0 competition on the platform.

Coinciding with the launch of Warzone 2.0, Go Mate will be launching its range of “smart all-natural drinks” meant for gamers. According to the company, the new drinks range aims to “reshape how the esports space connects with the drinks industry.”

Phil Hubner, CBDO of Challengermode said:

“We are incredibly excited to be working with Go Mate on the first Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 tournament on the Challengermode platform. We see Go Mate’s work in encouraging healthy drinks alternatives and healthy approaches to play in the esports space as a positive for players. We think there is huge potential for Go Mate to redefine how players approach drinks that level up their gameplay in a healthier way, and we are pleased that we have been able to help them in reaching the competitive gaming audience at large in an authentic way.”
