It is no secret that in all online video games, there are different bugs or connection problems that usually affect the games of casual players. However, lately, we have observed how these bugs have reached extremely high levels.
Let’s remember that recently, an unknown bug affected FURIA Esports in an IEM Katowice 2023 match. Another bug almost knocked Moist Esports out of the ALGS Split One Playoff of Apex Legends.
Now, these bugs are very common because they have to do directly with the game itself, that is, with its development and creation of maps, skills, and that sort of thing. But, a connection error interrupts matches at the highest competitive level of CS:GO if it is something that can worry.
IEM Brazil full of technical problems
The closed qualifier for the $250,000 IEM Brazil 2023 is underway, and the news around this event is not encouraging. Several players and teams have reported that the qualifiers are immersed in technical problems that directly affect big teams. We have ENCE, Bad New Eagles, BIG, and Sprout among them.
BIG, ENCE, and Sprout, three great teams within the CS:GO competitive scene, lost their matches against lower-level teams. This is amid complaints regarding problems with the servers and the ESEA client, which blocked them, according to the players.
Such were the problems in the match between BIG and Sprout that they managed to complete only six rounds in one hour of play when typically the 30 rounds are played in 45 minutes (on average). Therefore, many players hoped ESEA would take action and fix the problems before today. However, it appears that players are still having problems. This, according to Pavle “maden” Bošković, ENCE player, who said:
“Two days in a row getting huge lags on three guys because of ESEA client,” maden said on Twitter. “They don’t want to provide us good servers or fix this bug, and they also don’t let us play without the client. We lost full ecos, antiecos, and many other rounds because of it.”
We are 3 bo3s, 2 days in a row getting huge lags on 3 guys because of ESEA client, and they for 2 days dont wanna provide us good servers or fix this bug, and they also dont let us play without the client, we lost full ecos, antiecos, many other rounds cus of it

This was joined by different players and coaches commenting on the situation, such as Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg, current Bad New Eagles coach, who said:
“And nothing worse than a start stop start stop CS game when 95% of us have heavy adhd.”

On the other hand, ESEA, which is a platform owned by ESL, offered its apologies, with ENCE captain Marco “Snappi” Pfeffer saying:
We are forced to play with 3 players lagging out. It is what it is. Wish us luck and do not bet. Thanks @ESEA

All qualifiers have had technical problems
Every single day and every single match of the closed qualifier for IEM Brazil 2023 has been affected by technical problems. Some of them were related to the ESEA client or servers.
From this qualifier, two teams will qualify for the next IEM Brazil. This will take place between April 17 and 23, 2023.
It is striking that ESL, the organizer of this event, has not commented on all these problems reported by the different teams and players.
