League of Legends players in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) will soon have access to a special EMEA Champions Queue (CQ) server, according to Riot Games.

The League of Legends Champions Queue will be expanding to EMEA this year, according to an official announcement from Riot Games. The champion queue will allow EMEA players to participate in a highly competitive server to hone their abilities and train against the best in the region.

The move comes in response to the success of the extremely popular NA Champions Queue, which caught the attention of every League fan in North America and sparked a lot of discussions and debates all around the world. The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Winter Split will coincide with the first split of the EMEA Champions Queue, which will run from January 14 to February 23. It will be accessible on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 22:00 to 02:00 CET.

Riot to form EMEA CQ Player Council

With the EMEA Champions Queue server, players can practice League of Legends in a server devoted exclusively to the top player. Riot Games will establish an EMEA CQ Player Council with a number of European League of Legends pros to decide which players get access to the Champions Queue.

An invitation to a personal Discord server will be extended to the qualifying players. One benefit of using this dedicated server is that it has a leaderboard system, a private communication server, and automatic lobby formation.

To make EMEA one of the top regions on the League of Legends global stage, the council and Riot’s ultimate goal is to guarantee that all players have access to a high-tier practice environment. The highly strict requirements for participation demonstrate that Riot Games cares about the competitiveness of the contests.
