After a spectacular eighth day at the BLAST.tv Paris Major, FaZe Clan, Into The Breach, and Apeks sealed their tickets to the Champions Stage with excellent victories.

All the matches were really exciting and worthy of a Major. However, we can’t fail to mention that NaVi had a disappointing tournament after finishing with a 2-3 record. At the same time, NiP was overwhelmed by completely inspired Apeks on this last day of the Legends Stage.

Finally, one of the biggest upsets of this day 8 of the Paris Major was ITB’s reverse sweep against Fnatic, which left the popular Swedish team out of the playoffs of the last Major in the CS:GO era.

FaZe Clan end the aspirations of s1mple and NaVi

There is no doubt that NaVi had disappointed in this Paris Major when they were labeled as one of the favorites to take the champions trophy. But unfortunately, the Ukrainian team could not demonstrate a collective level that would allow them to qualify for the tournament’s next stage. Although the GOAT, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, tried his best, only Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy could help him occasionally.

NaVi started very strong on FaZe’s map pick, Overpass, and they managed to take a 16-13 victory. Perfecto and s1mple were in charge of leading NaVi to this victory and thus placing them very close to the Champions Stage.

However, NaVi’s illusions were gradually being extinguished in the series, especially after their map pick, Mirage, FaZe Clan, destroyed them with a terrible score of 5-16. After that, Robin “ropz” Kool and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken put the morale of the Ukrainians on the floor.

Finally, in Anubis, NaVi qualified for the Champions Stage in their hands, as they managed to take a 15-9 lead. However, FaZe Clan showed impressive teamwork to equalize the score 15-15 and finally take a spectacular 22-19 victory and seal their ticket to the Champions Stage of the Paris Major.

ITB apply a reverse sweep to send Fnatic home

The Tier 2 teams continue to give something to talk about in the Paris Major, and, this time, it was the Into The Breach guys who achieved a spectacular reverse sweep to eliminate Fnatic from the tournament. Joey “CRUC1AL” Steusel had a spectacular series and was the mainstay of ITB to take this 2-1 victory.

It all started with Fnatic overwhelming ITB on Inferno in the first half with a 10-5 score on the T side. While ITB tried to react and managed to get 10-12 down on the scoreboard, Fnatic recovered to take the 16-12 win.

Fnatic’s debacle started on their map pick, Overpass, when ITB delivered a 14-1 thrashing on their CT side to put the morale of the Fnatic boys on the floor. Karol “rallen” Rodowicz had a phenomenal first half, finishing with 139.9 ADR and a 2.08 Rating. At the change of sides, Fnatic tried to wake up by winning the first seven rounds to put the score 8-14. However, ITB stopped two consecutive offensives to win by 16-8.

Finally, in Vertigo, ITB once again delivered a real beating to Fnatic, which surprised everyone, both teams and the entire community. The first half on the T-side was a massacre by CRUC1AL and Cai “CYPHER” Watson, who annihilated each of Fnatic’s defenses to take a 13-2 partial victory. Finally, ITB sealed the reverse sweep with a 16-4 victory.

Apeks annihilate NiP to seal their ticket to the Champions Stage

Finally, in the day’s last match, we enjoyed a spectacular atmosphere and a fantastic game from the Apeks boys, who crushed NiP 2-0 and sealed their ticket to the Champions Stage.

It all started in Vertigo, where NiP took a partial victory in the first half on their T-side by 9-6. However, Apeks reacted in such a way that NiP could not stop the Norwegian team’s offensives and managed to even score at 15-15. Finally, in Overtime, Apeks took the victory to secure the first map.

Then, in Ancient, we could see an absolute determination on the part of Apeks, as NiP started extremely strong on their CT side and took a crushing 12-3 partial victory. However, Apeks, thanks to the awakening of Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad, was able to come back to take it back to Overtime. In the end, the Norwegians came back to beat NiP 19-16 to book their place in the next round of the Major.
