Rumors have begun to surface in recent hours suggesting that Andre “drop” Abreu will not be part of FURIA Esports’ starting lineup for the remainder of the year.

The CS:GO community has its spotlight on FURIA following news that places gaming legend Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo as one of its new signings ahead of the transition to CS2. However, these rumors have undoubtedly increased following the latest report detailing that the Brazilian organization has benched drop.

FURIA would send drop to the team’s bench

According to a report from Dust2 Brazil, FURIA has decided to exclude Andre “drop” Abreu from their starting CS:GO lineup for the remainder of 2023. This move would begin restructuring the Brazilian team, which the community has clamored for in recent weeks.

FURIA is evaluating different options to replace Drop. Kaue “kauez” Kaschuk is the possible choice of the Brazilian organization. However, it should be noted that kauez, a very talented youngster from the FURIA Academy, has a VAC ban until October 2023.

On the other hand, if this news is confirmed, it would not be a surprise. There are many rumors in recent weeks of the possible departure of drop and Rafael “saffee” Costa from FURIA.

Reconstruction of FURIA

Andre Akkari, the Brazilian organization’s co-owner, gave the team fans a message detailing some of the plans they will have shortly. In addition, Akkari mentioned that he had a meeting with Andrei “arT” Piovezan, Yuri “yuurih” Boian, and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato. As we can see, the names of drop and Saffe are not in this message, so they are likely not in these team plans.

This pair of players have the least time in the FURIA lineup, as drop has been with the team since August 2021, while saffee joined in January 2022. Drop arrived after spending several years in the FURIA Academy, and saffee was the star AWPer for paiN Gaming.

Other reports indicate that FURIA and FalleN have been in talks recently. However, neither FalleN nor the Brazilian organization have provided details. What is certain is that several teams are after the Brazilian legend, one of them being paiN Gaming, so what team wouldn’t like to have an experienced player like FalleN in their lineup for the start of the CS2 era?

Now we can only wait for FalleN’s decision, as the player announced that he is seriously considering his retirement from the scene. On the other hand, the arrival of CS2 may hold the Brazilian legend a little longer, but it is unknown if he decides to stay at Imperial, go to FURIA, paiN Gaming, or retire.

Whatever happens with FalleN, FURIA will have to make a big adjustment in their lineup to get back to being that competitive team they have us used to.
