NaVi disappoint and are knocked out of the Legends Stage of the Paris Major

The BLAST.tv Paris Major already knows another team packing their bags to return home, Natus Vincere (NaVi). S1mple, Perfecto, and the other NaVi boys couldn’t beat FaZe Clan in the Legends Stage Round 5 match and were eliminated from the latest Major in the CS:GO era.

There is no doubt that this is terrible news for the organization, the players, and the fans, who gave NaVi as a favorite to at least qualify for the Champions Stage. However, they had another big team struggling recently, FaZe Clan, who managed an excellent reverse sweep to seal their ticket to the Champions Stage.

NaVi joins the disappointment of another of the Tier 1 teams eliminated in the last hours, G2 Esports.

Navi’s turbulent path in the Paris Major

NaVi have a stormy road in this Legends Stage of the Paris Major. Their first match was against Team GamerLegion, and they got a great victory with a score of 16-10. However, this was the only joy the team had in the tournament.

In their second match, they had to face a Team Liquid that, undoubtedly, arrived with too many doubts after achieving a qualification in extremis in the Challengers Stage. However, in the end, the North American side took a comfortable 16-8 victory to send NaVi into the tournament’s third round with a 1-1 record.

NaVi then bounced back against NiP with an excellent 16-9 win and a spectacular Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, who finished the match with 99.8 ADR and a 1.53 Rating.

With this victory, NaVi secured two chances to qualify for the Champions Stage of the Paris Major. However, those chances were not enough for the Ukrainian team, completely surprised by the “Cinderella” of the tournament, Monte Esports, who gave NaVi a 2-0 thrashing. As a result, NaVi had to play against FaZe Clan for one of the last three slots for the Champions Stage in a BO3 that was full of emotions.

It all started with an excellent level of play by NaVi in Overpass, who, although they were very close to being overthrown on a map that was a certainty, managed to get a very good victory by 16-13. However, FaZe Clan’s momentum came to the fore in the second map, Mirage, where they managed to crush NaVi in their map pick, 16-5.

Finally, on Anubis, we enjoyed two of the best teams in recent years in the CS:GO scene. First, NaVi started the map very strong and took a partial victory by 8-7 on their CT side. Then, at the change of sides, NaVi put the score in their favor by 15-9, meaning they had seven chances to win a round and qualify for the next phase. However, FaZe even scored 15-15 and sent the match to Overtime.

Finally, FaZe Clan, thanks to a completely inspired Helvijs “broky” Saukants, managed to take the victory by 22-19 and thus seal their ticket to the next phase.
