After a spectacular awakening in the fourth week of the VCT Americas with Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen in their lineup, the Sentinels announced that the player would remain in the starting lineup for the rest of the tournament.

After a really exciting Super Week with many pleasant surprises, the race for the VCT Americas playoff positions begins. Starting this week, the second half of the season officially begins, and the margin of error for all the teams that aspire to qualify for the next phase of the tournament is much smaller.

Right now, there are only four weeks left in the regular season and one of the teams that want to give a blow on the table and get into the playoffs is undoubtedly Sentinels.

Sentinels announce that Marved remains in the lineup for the rest of the tournament

The popular North American organization with a really good lineup, Sentinels, announced that Marved would remain in the team’s starting lineup for the rest of the tournament.

Recall that Marved joined Sentinels in March following Hunter “SicK” Mims’ troubles with the law in the United States. However, the player was clear that his role on the team was as a sixth player, so he was always on standby to play for Sentinels.

With the arrival of Adam “Kaplan” Kaplan to the team as Head Coach, one of his first decisions was to send Tyson “TenZ” Ngo to the team’s bench to take a break so he could recover from health problems that prevented him from competing at his highest level. As a result, Marved was included in the team’s lineup for Super Week and made an excellent impression in his debut with the team.

In the video posted by Sentinels, where Kaplan explains the situation, it is detailed that TenZ was infected with COVID-19 and, in addition, had an infection in the fingers of his left hand. As a result, Marved played the matches against LOUD and MIBR.

Improvement in Sentinels with Marved?

TenZ and his Sentinels teammates are considered stars in the VALORANT competitive scene in the Americas. However, with the addition of Marved this Super Week, Sentinels saw an improvement in their level of play that, without a doubt, was absolute.

In the match against LOUD, a team that, in theory, is the best in the region and one of the best in the world, they managed to win the first map. In addition, Marved had impressive stats of 1.82 K/D/A and an ACS of 249 in the five maps played in Super Week.

Now, the next test of fire for Marved and Sentinels will be against Cloud9. Another team has also awakened in recent weeks and accumulated three consecutive victories. Finally, we can only wait and see if Marved was a coincidence or if we see a player who wants to earn a place in the team’s starting lineup permanently.
