When the Creative 2.0 program was released in Fortnite, users were competing to be the first to recreate the much-missed original map of the game. However, from now on, Epic Games prohibits recreating old maps in this new game mode.

Since Leakers unveiled Creative 2.0, game fans have waited for its release to create their islands in Unreal Editor for Fortnite. With this addition to the title, more creative players can let their imaginations run wild and create things different from what is available in Fortnite.

However, creative players were struggling to see who managed to recreate the game’s original map. Some creatives are looking to recreate old maps because the community has been asking for the return of the Chapter 1 map for a long time.

Epic Games bans Creatives 2.0 from recreating old Fortnite maps

Despite the excitement felt by fans of the game because they have the opportunity to play old maps again, Epic Games has banned them from being recreated. The developer has announced that Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 maps cannot be recreated. In addition, players who have recreated the original map can no longer advance.

Terms and Conditions Update

Epic Games released this information through their official blog. In the post, they inform the Fortnite community that the terms and conditions for publishing the islands that recreate the Chapter 1 map are updated.

The game developers comment that all variations of the islands and maps in the game are the intellectual property of Epic Games. They further inform in the terms and conditions update that people recreating the original map will not be able to monetize it.

In the game’s Creator 2.0 monetization terms, creators do not earn money from creator codes. Instead, they make money through player interaction with the content they create. However, it has been made clear that no one can profit from the original map.

In the Epic Games release, it is made clear that only the original map can be recreated. Considering they will not receive money for the map. However, content from chapters 2 and 3 cannot be recreated. The fan community has concluded the issue; they believe that this banning measure is due to licensing and copyright terms.

Currently, two groups of creatives have developed a replica of the original Fortnite map; fans of the game can enjoy it. However, those maps will likely not receive updates and upgrades with this new measure. So, unfortunately, for all those players waiting for the arrival of content from past chapters, that will not happen.
