Day 4 of DreamLeague S20 is over and the results no longer surprise us. The strongest teams, BetBoom and PSG.LGD, won another round of matches, while the weakest team in the group, Aster, lost for the fourth consecutive time in this stage.

There seems to be a significant strength difference between BetBoom, PSG.LGD, and the rest of the pack, at least in this format. On LAN, things might look very different. But the online format clearly favors these two competitors, who seem to enjoy themselves regardless of who they need to play against.

BetBoom’s run

BetBoom started stage 2 of DreamLeague S20 with a victory against Gaimin Gladiators, by far the strongest team in the world during Tour 1 and Tour 2 of Dota Pro Circuit 2023. Gladiators won not only the first two Majors of the season but also DreamLeague S19.

With such spectacular results obtained in the last four months, Gladiators are not exactly easy to beat. But BetBoom defeated them anyway, with a score of 2-1.

BetBoom’s next match was against Evil Geniuses, a team that’s currently ranked 3rd with 2 W – 2 L. And they won again, with the same score as before.

In their next two matches, BetBoom played against Team Aster and Team Spirit. Each time, the match had two challenging games that lasted between 40 and 50 minutes. Clearly,

BetBoom aren’t the kind of dominant team that wins every game with ease. But they do win sooner or later. Their ability to identify the key problems and weaknesses and then exploit them is phenomenal.

PSG.LGD’s run

PSG.LGD’s run in the first four days of DreamLeague S20 stage 2 was even more dominant than BetBoom’s. Their round score at this point is 8 W – 1 L, which basically means that three of their four matches ended with a 2-0 result.

Their first opponent was Team Spirit and the battle was won with ease using an Undying plus Ember Spirit combination twice. The second opponent was Gaimin Gladiators and in this match, both games required more than 50 minutes to conclude.

In the third match, PSG.LGD played against EG and won game 1 in 15 minutes. But ended up needing three games to win the match.

In the fourth match, PSG.LGD defeated Talon Esports but only with great difficulties. Game 1 lasted 54 minutes while game 2 required 47 minutes to conclude.
