Group C of ESL Pro League S19 is almost over and MOUZ have accomplished their objective. Before the tournament began, everyone knew that they would be the strongest team in this group. However, with Team Liquid in good shape and having a lot to prove, there was a slight chance for MOUZ to lose the upper bracket Final.

In the end, they didn’t. But the struggle, at least on the first map of the match, was real. The two teams were separated by just two rounds, which were won by MOUZ in the first half. The second map, picked by MOUZ, was one-sided and the score was 13 – 7.

Throughout the match, MOUZ played like a solid team and everyone contributed in a major way. For Liquid, the situation was very different. Twistzz, NAF, and YEKINDAR did a great job and had good individual scores. CadiaN and skullz played far worse.

In the case of cadiaN, the situation is understandable because he is the IGL and needs to take care of the strategic element. But skullz should not have finished with a score of 19 – 35. MOUZ managed to shut him down very effectively, which was one of the main reasons why they won the match.

MOUZ’s Overall Performance

There’s not much to be said about MOUZ’s performance in group C other than the fact that they didn’t lose a single map. They had two tough maps, on which their opponents either won 11 rounds or forced overtime. Other than that, it was smooth sailing for Brollan and his crew.

The only problem is that MOUZ did something similar at the Copenhagen Major. They dominated the second stage, qualifying for the playoffs with a perfect record. But as soon as they started playing on the main stage, in front of a screaming audience, their players succumbed to pressure and nothing worked anymore.

G2 Esports, who had struggled to qualify for the playoffs, defeated them without losing any maps: 13 – 9 on Inferno and 13 – 6 on Vertigo. Hopefully for MOUZ, they will do much better this time. Thanks to winning their group, they will start in the quarterfinals. If they win just two matches, they’re going to play in the Grand Final, which is probably their goal.
