Suppose you prefer esports to football during Super Bowl weekend. In that case, Twitch is the perfect solution, offering competitive matches where you can watch featured streamers alongside NFL players for the fourth year.

The Streamer Bowl

The Streamer Bowl, a matchup between prominent streamers and NFL players, will take place on Amazon-owned Twitch.

In the fourth edition of the Streamer Bowl, each creator will have an American soccer player in their squad. At this event, teams will engage in combat in the battle royale game Fortnite. Phoenix, Arizona, will host the game, and the Super Bowl will kick off on October 12.

Twitch held the first-ever Streamer Bowl in 2020, pairing 16 in-house celebrities with 16 NFL players. The Pandemic forced the Streamer Bowl to an away format the following year, but the number of competitors increased, with 90 participants divided among 30 trios.

Streamer Bowl III was back on track by the following year with 20 trios. TimTheTatman and NickMercs were two of the streamers who participated in this type of competition. Additionally, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Christian McCaffrey were two of the players who participated.

In terms of scale, the fourth installment of the competition will be a return to its origins. There will be an “epic Fortnite showdown” between “16 streamers” and “16 NFL stars,” according to a teaser posted on Twitch’s Twitter account.

When will Streamer Bowl IV take place?

The fourth Streamer Bowl will be held live in Phoenix, Arizona, on February 9, 2023, so prepare for this incredible event.

As previously discussed, the unique tournament will once again feature teams consisting of an NFL player and a Twitch streamer. In addition, this year, they will compete for a share of the $250,000 in charity prizes.

New Format

While the Streamer Bowl IV lineups have not yet been determined, what we currently know is as follows:

There will be 16 teams in the 2023 Streamer Bowl. Battle Royale matches will be replaced with games on Fortnite Creative’s “King of the Hill” custom map.

Teams will play four matches, earning points based on time spent in the hub. Time is most valuable in endgames to make things interesting.
