Blacklist International has claimed the sixth and finals playoffs slot in the ongoing MPL Philippines Season 13 after upsetting ECHO, 2-0, in their rubber match Saturday in Makati City.

Blacklist has improved to a 6-7 record to a current solo 5th spot after securing this all-important sixth win, earning them a total of 19 points, just one up MINANA Evos.

“It was a very close Game 1 and we were able to show them (ECHO) that we can. We actually can square up against them. Maybe because in the second game, we had a better draft, so they were able to execute our plan with double aggressiveness,” a visibly satisfied coach Kristoffer “Bon Chan” Ricaplaza told reporters.

Blacklist International managed to break ECHO’s Game 1 code by narrowing down the Orcas’ gold lead after a 5-4 kill exchange in the 14th minute.

However, the Roger pick of ECHO’s Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales helped score his first Savage killing streak in the 17th minute, giving ECHO the first game.

By the second game, Blacklist’s Kiel “Oheb” Soriano took over – scoring a Maniac kill in the 10th minute to propel Blacklist to a win and force a second game, 1-1.

By Game 3, it became clear that Blacklist International wanted to finish this story, as Edward “Edward” Dapadap and Salic “Hadji” Imam’s picks helped initiate great fights that helped Blacklist seal the final playoffs spot.

Blacklist aims to seal their regular season in their game against RSG Philippines today.
