Virtus.pro beat FURIA to qualify for the Roobet Cup 2023 Final

The emotions of the Roobet Cup 2023 continue at its peak, and the 4 teams that remained alive in the tournament gave us two spectacular matches in the semifinals. In one of these matches, Virtus.pro defeated FURIA 2-1 to win their place in the tournament’s Grand Final.

This is excellent news for the VP boys, who have had a difficult 2023, as they have not been able to show their full potential. On the other hand, it is another disappointment for the Brazilian squad since they rebuilt their lineup almost 5 months ago.

For VP, they will now have to face Monte in the Grand Final to try to take home the juicy $150,000 prize.

VP applied a reverse sweep against FURIA to seal their ticket to the Grand Final

As we mentioned, after applying a phenomenal reverse sweep, the Russian squad took a step forward in these semifinals to take an excellent victory over FURIA. Likewise, it should be noted that the 3 maps were really disputed and that FURIA was also able to seal their victory.

The series took place in Mirage, Inferno, and Ancient.

Mirage

It all started in Mirage, FURIA’s map pick, where we enjoyed a spectacular game that had to be defined through Overtime.

In the first half, VP started very well on their CT Side to take a partial victory by 7-5. Evgenii “FL1T” Lebedev and Petr “fame” Bolyshev led VP to this partial victory.

Then, at the change of sides, Yuri “yuurih” Santos and the experience of Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo helped FURIA come back spectacularly on the scoreboard to tie it 12-12. Finally, after 5 rounds in OT, FURIA Esports sealed their victory by 16-13 to start these semifinals on the right foot.

Inferno

Then, the teams moved to Inferno, VP’s map pick, where things changed completely, as the Russian squad started very strong and tied the series 1-1.

In the first half, VP, in their T Side, took a step forward with an excellent collective performance of the team to take a partial victory by 8-4. Then, at the change of sides, FURIA tried to wake up to get into the game and got to 10-12 on the scoreboard. However, this was not enough, as VP won the final round to seal the 13-10 victory.

Ancient

Finally, in Ancien, things remained in the same tone as in Inferno, as VP showed great play to take the victory and qualify for the Grand Final of the Roobet Cup 2023.

In the first half, as in Inferno, VP started with an excellent 8-4 partial victory in their T Side. However, this time, the Brazilians could do absolutely nothing to change sides, as, after 8 rounds (3-5), the VP sealed their victory by 13-7 to punch their ticket to the Grand Final.
