What to expect in Modern Warfare Season 2

Considering that the Call of Duty franchise continues to be a complete hit for Activision, there is no doubt that it is logical that they want to boost the popularity of their titles even more. To that end, the developers always try to update their latest installments constantly to keep all their players happy.

However, with the latest installment of Modern Warfare 2 released a few months ago, many community members, especially in Warzone 2, were disappointed by the different gameplay features, maps, and more. That is why Activision, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software have taken the trouble to listen to their fans and, based on that, make the updates for next February 15, 2023.

What’s new in this new season of Modern Warfare 2?

Over the last two weeks, Activision has published all the details regarding the new features that the next season of both games will bring on February 15. Likewise, they recently published the Roadmap of the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 2 updates.

Game Modes

In MW2, ranked matches are just the beginning of new gameplay options. It’s only fitting that Infinity Ward introduces many more party modes for casual gamers to enjoy alone or in the company, as hardcore and sweaty gamers already have a mode to grind in.

Here’s a list of all the new game modes coming to MW2 in Season 2.

Infected

Operators in Infected must avoid the selected Infected player at all costs. Until no survivors are left or the five minutes have passed, each one who is eliminated joins the Infected team.

Grind

According to Activision, “Grind is Kill Confirmed with a few changes: enemy plates are stackable and must be placed in one of two set locations. To score more points, accumulate several badges at once, but stay alive to avoid handing the opponent many badges.”

Gun Game

In Black Ops 1’s incredibly addictive Wager Match mode, Gun Game first came to CoD as an official option. This mode has led to many memorable and dramatic moments, even without stakes.

Hardcore

The popular Hardcore mode from many other series installments is back in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.

Other game modes to be added will be:

• Drop Zone
• All or Nothing
• One in the Chamber

New maps

On the other hand, Activision has also confirmed that there will be four new maps in the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 2. They are:

• Dome
• Valderas Museum
• Al Malik International
• Zaya Observatory

New features common to both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2

Finally, these two titles will also feature new features that share many essential features, such as weapons and operators. In short, these new features in common for MW2 and Warzone 2 will be:

New weapons

• Iso Hemlock
• KV Broadside
• Crossbow
• Dual Kodachis

New operators

• Daniel Ronin Shinoda
• Roze
• Nova

New packs for the store

• Ballistic Love
• Shinobi

Undoubtedly, the expectations of all the community members around this new update are very high. Many players can’t wait until February 15 to enjoy each of the new features that the game will bring.

New features in Warzone 2 and DMZ mode

On the other hand, there will also be different new features in the Battle Royale and in its DMZ mode, which we will mention below:

Warzone 2

• Resurgence mode returns with the Ashika Island map.
• A new set of thematic challenges
• Return of the 1vs1 gulag
• New vehicle: jet ski
• New mechanic: in Ashika Island, we will drop a badge when we die that we will be able to recover when we fall back on the map in exchange for some extra cash

DMZ mode

• Exclusion zone on Ashika Island
• New faction: Crown Faction
• New boss in Ashika Island: bombmaker
• Updated supply crates.
