One of the most experienced and veteran players in the professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene, Swede Richard “Xizt” Landström, has extended his contract with Heroic for two more years.

The player has been with the organization since 2021. After retiring as a player, he started in an analyst role before becoming an interim coach, eventually becoming the team’s Head Coach.

Xizt remains with Heroic for two more years

Richard “Xizt” Landström is known for his achievements in NiP, FaZe Clan, and Fnatic. The now Heroic coach agrees to a two-year contract extension, as announced by the organization. The former NiP captain was behind the team throughout Heroic’s spectacular run in 2022. This team reached the grand final at the IEM Rio Major, won the BLAST Fall Finals, and finished #1 in the world rankings.

The contract extension keeps Xizt until 2025. The Swede joins Casper “cadiaN” Møller, Rasmus “sjuush” Beck, René “TeSeS” Madsen, and Martin “stavn” Lund, who also extended their contracts with the organization for two years.

Xizt is very happy to remain with the team and said:

“It’s a great feeling to extend my contract with Heroic. For me, it was a no-brainer. We are building something great, and I am very excited.”

Now, Heroic’s lineup looks as follows:

  • Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard
  • Casper “cadiaN” Møller
  • Martin “stavn” Lund
  • René “TeSeS” Madsen
  • Rasmus “sjuush” Beck
  • Richard “Xizt” Landström

About Xizt

We all remember this experienced player from his time in Counter-Strike 1.6. Then, in the CS:GO era, the player became the IGL of Ninjas in Pyjamas for many years, leading the team to the top of the scene, including a Major title. Unfortunately, in 2018, the player was benched from the team after a series of poor results.

As mentioned, the Swedish player has been part of organizations such as Fnatic and took first place in IEM Sydney with FaZe Clan as an alternate.

In January 2020, he joined his teammates and friends Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, Adam “friberg” Friberg, and Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson in Dignitas. But, Xizt left Dignitas in September of the same year.

In 2013, he formed a spectacular trio with GeT_RiGhT and f0rest in NiP. It was a dream lineup with spectacular players.

As a player, he managed to lift six championship trophies in S-tier tournaments from 2014 to 2018. Now, as a coach, he has proven that he can lead his teams to victory.

We can only wait and see if the player, now Swedish Head Coach, can excel much more in the next two years with Heroic and bring more titles to the organization.
