Since the release of Warzone 2, many players have shown displeasure with the new 2v2 Gulag system.

The fact that you depend on other players to return to the deployment does not please the community. Now, if every time you get paired with a random teammate in Warzone 2’s Gulag, you feel disappointed, we bring you good news.

Gulag in Warzone 2

The Gulag is a sort of prison that the Russians used to incarcerate politicians, criminals, and many more.

The different Call of Duty sagas takes many characteristics of the former Soviet Union to develop the games’ stories. This is no exception in Activision’s Battle Royale, Warzone, and Warzone 2.

Activision decides to place the Gulag in Warzone to give players a “second chance” to players. This was a great success in the first game, allowing players to fight in 1-on-1 combat to redeploy.

However, in the new Warzone 2, they decided to implement a 2v2 Gulag, where the system pairs players with one another to fight to redeploy.

Now, with the delay of Warzone 2 Season 2, the developers announced that they would use the time to make some changes to the game. Like other developers, such as Riot Games, they plan to make changes based on community feedback.

1v1 Gulag returns

Since the game’s release, the Warzone 2 community has not accepted the 2v2 Gulag format for a moment. In many forums and Tweets, they have asked to return to the 1v1 form, and it seems that the Season 2 update will answer this call.

And is that, Infinity Ward has confirmed that the Gulag 1v1 returns for the second season of the game to be released next February 15. The developers claim this change is after “making several changes based on what they have heard from the player community. ”

Community complaints

Many players and content creators on Twitch complained about the 2v2 format in Warzone 2 Gulag. Some of them claimed it was a very risky way to get a second chance in the game.

There is no doubt that the community’s biggest concern was pairing with another player who did not have the same level of aggressiveness or play style as them. On many occasions, it forced one of the team members to win a tricky 1v2 situation.

In addition, adding an AI fighter called Jailer to the Gulag produces even more uncertainty in the mix.

The best way to get a second chance in Warzone 2 is a 1v1 fight, as the only person to trust is yourself. Moreover, this allows you to prove your worth on the battlefield ideally.

This change and other adjustments the team had to make caused a delay in the start of Warzone 2’s second season. But with more time, fans hope the popular battle royale will soon be restored to its former glory.
