It’s finally here! What many Call of Duty: Warzone 2 fans have been asking for since the game’s launch in November is now a reality. Resurgence Mode will be coming to Warzone 2, starting with the Season 2 update with the Ashika Island map.
Now, all those Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence Mode fans who have been parachuting since November without a map to land on have less than two weeks left for their wishes to be granted in full.
Resurgence Mode
This mode was very popular with fans of the original Warzone but had been missing in action since last November. When Warzone 2 was released, the original Warzone was disconnected from the servers for two weeks and, upon its return, did not have Resurgence mode.
Many players enjoy Resurgence mode as a warm-up to enter Battle Royale then. On the other hand, it is also used to level up weapons or, for some, it is simply their preferred game mode. But something new is about to shake up the Warzone 2 universe.
Resurgence Mode allows players to deploy on a much smaller map than Battle Royale to loot and kill enemies. This faster game mode allows players to redeploy at different opportunities. Many say it is a hybrid mode between Battle Royale and Team Deathmatch.
As mentioned, players will respawn as long as their teammates survive a countdown, which increases in length with each successive kill.
Ashika Island
One of the most acclaimed modes by the community is here. We will finally have the Resurgence Mode in Warzone 2. The new map is called Ashika Island, and below we will show you what we know about this map.
- Ashika Island arrives to replace the classic Rebirth, as the games are expected to be similar. This means lobbies of 40 players and a similar format.
- It is not yet confirmed, but it is expected to consist of a side in which we can reappear as long as a squadmate is still alive in the game.
- As for the shape, Ashika Island is a map with a large port in the east and a huge castle on a hill in the center.

In total, Akisha Island has up to 7 POIs which are as follows:
- Oganikku Farms
- Town Center
- Beach Club
- Residential
- Tsuki Castle
- Shipwreck
- Port Ashika
Like the Al Mazrah map, some of these locations should be familiar to long-time fans of the Call of Duty series. Tsuki Castle is based on the classic Castle map from Call of Duty: World at War. It is unclear if Castle will eventually make it to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer mode.

Ashika Island should provide some variety for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players who are tired of playing on Al Mazrah or are simply looking for a smaller map on which to fight.

There may even be more maps on the way. Recent surveys have suggested that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 could bring back older BR maps from previous Call of Duty games, with Verdansk and its variations, Blackout from Black Ops 4, and even the controversial Caldera map all cited as possibilities.
