After several weeks of rumors and different reports, it has been confirmed that one of the most important players in the history of 100 Thieves, Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, is returning to the team for the LCS Summer Split 2023.
This confirms our shared information a week ago when Evil Geniuses announced that four players (including Ssumday) are leaving the team for the Summer Split. Now, the experienced 26-year-old Top Laner will return to what was his home for five years and will try to change his current situation.
Recall that with the unexpected news of Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg’s retirement, the organization was left in limbo, as it was left without one of its leaders within the Summoner’s Rift. Now, with the return of Ssumday, the team may return to the high level it has shown throughout history.

Ssumaday returns to what was his home and, of course, where he has experienced the best moments of his career in the League of Legends competitive scene. After playing under the 100 Thieves banner for six months, the experienced Top Laner returns home to put things right.
The 26-year-old is considered one of the main faces of the 100 Thieves’ League of Legends division, as during five years with the team, he became one of the top players in the LCS.
Ssumday’s departure made things worse for 100 Thieves
After 100 Thieves lost in the LCS Championship 2022 to Cloud9 and only won one match in the Worlds 2022 Group Stage, Ssumday left the team to join Evil Geniuses. However, the player’s departure was not missed, as 100 Thieves announced the signings of two game superstars, Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and Bjergsen.
Unfortunately for the fans and the team, things didn’t turn out how they would have liked. The season was a complete disappointment for the team despite having an extremely strong lineup. While it is true that the team managed to qualify for the playoffs, their 10-8 record left a lot to be desired, and their performance in the playoffs was far below what they could have imagined.
At this point, the team and we learned of Bjergsen’s decision to retire from League of Legends. As a result, 100 Thieves was forced to start looking for a replacement for the team’s mid-lane. Finally, the latest reports indicate that Bjergsen’s replacement in the lineup would be Gen.G Academy player Lim “Quid” Hyeon-Seung.

The Korean Midlaner from Gen.G has been one of the players who received the most interest this LCS off season.
