G2 Esports Will Face Na’Vi Next at The Copenhagen Major

Despite the unpleasant incident that occurred in the quarterfinals match between G2 Esports and MOUZ, G2’s players maintained their composure, came back on stage, and won 2 – 0.

Every single G2 player had a positive KD score. NiKo had the best performance, with a score of 39 – 25 and an ADR of 100+. But the others also played well. Even HooXi, who often has a poor score because of his IGL duties, managed to get 31 kills and died just 25 times.

The scores were 9 – 13 on Inferno (G2’s map pick) and 6 – 13 on Vertigo. Losing on a map on which they had a record of 4 W – 0 L must have hurt MOUZ. But under pressure, everything becomes a lot more challenging if you don’t know how to deal with the energy that comes from the crowd.

For G2’s players, it was just another day at work. But MOUZ’s players are less experienced when it comes to this part.

In the semifinals of PGL Major Copenhagen, G2 Esports will play against Natus Vincere and the memes have already started to circulate around the CS2 community. One of them, perhaps the most famous one, is being spread by Na’Vi’s Twitter staff.

The two teams have a long history of rivalry and for the most part, Na’Vi proved to be the stronger side. The most important matches between the two teams occurred in 2021, at IEM Cologne and then at PGL Major Stockholm. Both times, Na’Vi won the Grand Final against G2 without losing a single map.

This time, we are likely to see G2 winning because the Ukrainian team does not have s1mple on the roster. Meanwhile, G2 have NiKo and m0NESY, two of the top five players in CS2 last season.

Na’Vi could still win but they are undoubtedly the underdogs in this case. With s1mple on the roster, it would have been a different story. But the way things are right now, it’s hard to believe they can triumph.

With G2 in the Grand Final, we would likely end up having a battle between Team Vitality and G2 for the first Major trophy in the history of CS2. But there’s also a chance that FaZe Clan, who managed to beat Team Spirit, will prove to be the stronger team in the semifinals.
