The poor results of 100 Thieves in the LCS Spring Split have not shaken the organization as much as the unexpected announcement of Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg’s retirement. The LCS legend and superstar decided to retire from esports without prior announcement to 100 Thieves, leaving the team completely surprised.

This undoubtedly left a huge hole in the team’s roster, as getting a player who can fill the space of a legend like Bjergsen is a complicated task. However, since last April 26, 2023, rumors began that the replacement could be Lim “Quid” Hyeon-Seung, a Gen.G Academy player.

Quid to replace Bjergsen in 100 Thieves

On April 26, renowned LoL and VALORANT journalist Alejandro Gomis announced that Korean mid-laner Quid would have a verbal agreement with 100 Thieves for the Summer Split.

Undoubtedly, this is one of the most promising mid-laner in the LCK, and 100 Thieves could be close to signing a replacement who, although he does not have much experience in the competitive scene, can become a star.

Furthermore, if these rumors are confirmed, Quid, who is only 18, would join a 100 Thieves squad full of experienced players in the LCS. This can help the player adapt quickly and, above all, help him fully exploit his potential.

About Quid

Quid is an extremely young and talented player who has been a part of Gen.G since 2020. Since then, Quid has played for the organization’s Challenger and Academy teams. In addition, he has also had the privilege of playing opposite one of the best mid-laner currently in the LCK, Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan.

An extraordinary performance with champions like Jayce, Sylas, Taliya, Azir, Akali, and Ahri has characterized Quid. In other words, it has a lot of flexibility when selecting its champion according to the opponents and situations that arise.

As mentioned, this 18-year-old star has little experience in the top-level LoL competitive scene. However, if this move is confirmed, the team needs to work on the player’s adaptation, which will surely be very simple considering the notable difference between the LCK and the LCS.

Quid’s performance so far

In the LCK Challenger League Spring Split, Quid had impressive statistics. The player finished as the third player with the most kills out of all other mid-laner in the league. In addition, he also showed his power by presenting high damage stats.

There is no doubt that this signing would be a big leap for him, as it would be his first foray as a professional in the league. However, with the help of the 100 Thieves coaching staff and his experienced teammates, the adaptation period will likely not be long.
