The good son returns home! As the popular saying goes, after a brief internship with Evil Geniuses, Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho would be returning to what was his home for more than five years, 100 Thieves. There is no doubt that this is great news for the organization and all its fans who hope to have a solid lineup for the Summer Split.

Recently, we have seen iconic players from one organization decided to return to what was their home in the past. This often boosts team morale and implements more experience in a lineup that needs it. However, now, with the retirement of Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, the organization needs a player to fill a pivotal role within the squad.

Reports claim Ssumday will return to 100 Thieves

According to a report by Brieuc Seeger, or “LEC Wooloo,” as we know him on Twitter, 26-year-old Top Laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho would return to the 100 Thieves lineup heading into the Summer Split. The report indicates that an agreement is already in place, making the player the team’s first signing of the mini offseason.

Now, the question is who will be sacrificed, and everything points to the current Top Laner of the team, Milan “Tenacity” Oleksij. Tenacity had a golden opportunity in the team in this 2023 season after being part of the Academy team for two years. However, the player could not shine in the team, let alone show his potential; plus, the entire 100 Thieves game revolved around Bjergsen and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.

When Tenacity was in the 100 Thieves Academy, he was extremely well-known in the AD carry position. However, when he jumped to the main team, he had to change roles, which certainly didn’t work in his favor. But this is not to say that the team’s poor results are directly related to Tenacity’s lack of confidence in the Top Lane. Overall, the team did not perform well and, although they qualified for the playoffs, were crushed by FlyQuest and Golden Guardians.

About Ssumday

Ssumday, 26, could not perform well playing for Evil Geniuses this 2023 season. While EG had a star-studded lineup, the team was not completely cohesive and couldn’t do much.

If the rumors are confirmed in the coming hours, Ssumday would be returning home and joining a squad that looks like it will have a clean slate. However, with the experience and high level of play of players like Doublelift and Can “Closer” Çelik, the team could take off and secure their qualification for Worlds 2023. Of course, to do so, they will have to play a Summer Split of the highest level.
