Call of Duty fans are excited as one of the most successful players in the game’s history is back. Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall is returning to the competitive CoD scene with the London Royal Ravens, an exciting new team in Europe.

The London Royal Ravens confirmed the news that the experienced player is joining the squad for the Major II Qualifiers through an official statement on their Twitter account.

Skrapz’s achievements in esports

Matthew “Skrapz” Marshall has been playing Call of Duty professionally since 2017 and started carving his way as one of the best players in the world. After several seasons on different teams, he joined FaZe Clan in 2019.

Skrapz started in the CDL with London Royal Ravens in 2019 before joining Paris Legion. After one season, he decided to retire and focus on the streaming world.

Since then, Skrapz has played in different Challengers leagues and some amateurs. Recall that he competed in the CDL Raleigh with the Louisville Red Wolves.

Before the CDL was formed, Skrapz played for several high-level organizations such as Fnatic, UNILAD, Red Reserve, and FaZe Clan. He is one of the most popular players in European history, known as much for his remarkable skill with weapons as for his hilarious interviews and antics.

As we mentioned in a previous article, the CDL 2023 Major II Qualifiers start next January 13, and Skrapz joins:

  • Byron “Nastie” Plumridge
  • Trei “Zer0” Morris
  • Obaid “Asim” Asim

Recall that PaulEhx decided to part ways with the competitive Call of Duty scene a few days ago.

Skrapz will officially return to the CDL when the Londoners take on the Toronto Ultra on January 13.

Why Skrapz is important to esports

For a player like Skrapz to join any team is cause for celebration, but it’s especially noteworthy that he chose to join the London Royal Ravens.

This team will compete as part of Activision Blizzard’s new franchise league, which marks an essential moment for esports.

The impact on competitive gaming

With the addition of Skarpz to the London Royal Ravens, European Call of Duty fans finally have another powerhouse team to support. And it’s not just anyone, as this one has a good chance of succeeding in the CDL.

This not only marks an exciting time for eSports in general. It also promises a lot of excitement during the upcoming matches, as we will see how far the London Royal Ravens boys can push their skills to the limit.
