Since the end of the Sring Major, all eyes have been on the RLCS roster. It is not uncommon for teams to mix up their rosters between splits and Majors, this time, one of the victims of these changes has been Moist Esports. One of its key players, Finlay “rise” Ferguson, has announced that he will play for Oxygen Esports next season.

North American esports organization Oxygen Esports intercepted the rise of the Version1 club at the last minute to strengthen its Rocket League roster.

The 18-year-old Englishman will reportedly replace Only, who has already announced his retirement from the team’s starting lineup and the search for new opportunities to continue his career.

RLCS roster announcements

It had been rumored for some time that rise would be leaving Moist; there was some doubt as to whether the player would remain playing in Europe. However, on January 9, OXG’s Twitter account announced that rise is joining the team for the upcoming season.

It will be interesting to see how rise, Archie, and Joreuz play together. No doubt, OXG will work on new strategies to highlight the strengths of each of the players on the team.

It’s not the first Finlay “rise” rodeo

Rise has become a staple in the Rocket League pro scene from its inception in 2019. However, the year step rise has managed to reap great success after participating in 3 Majors.

RLCS 21-22

  • Winter Split Major – 2nd plac
  • Spring Split Major – 1st place

RLCS 22-23

  • Fall Split Major – 2nd place.

Undoubtedly, this impressive record has caught the attention of the OXG team, which translates to rise’s name appearing on the RLCS signing list. OXG hopes these special updates at the Major will translate into a win at the World Championship.

OXG esports

It is essential to mention that OXG’s first S-level event was the Split Major in 2022. Unfortunately, this came after their entire roster, including the head coach, entered the RLCS signing list in March 2022. Despite this, the OXG team currently ranks third in Europe and eleventh overall, 22-23.

Having a previous Major winner on their roster is a huge advantage for the team. Although they have yet to face the former rise Moist Esports team, things look good.

To see how rise fits into their new team, we have to wait a bit for the duration of the Winter Qualifiers. This means that OXG has more time to practice and build strategies before starting in the competitive environment.
