Red Bull Flick Invitational duos return this weekend

It’s Red Bull Flick time again! This time, the 2v2 pro vs. amateur CS:GO event will take place in Copenhagen, where eight duos will compete for €50,000. Of course, the defending champion Boris “magixx” Vorobiev will also be there.

The Red Bull Flick Invitational is a 2v2 tournament where amateur duos can qualify for the big stage and compete against eight professional team duos. The event will be played in front of the Copenhagen crowd between November 19-20, featuring some of the biggest CS:GO legends in unusual matchups.

G2, NiP, Spirit, Flames, Heroic to participate

Invited teams include G2, represented by Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Justin “jks” Savage. Together with Copenhagen Flames represented by Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg and Johannes “b0RUP” Borup, they are the only two participating teams that haven’t competed in the Rio Major.

The Red Bull title defender magixx from Team Spirit with his new duo partner Robert “Patsi” Isyanov probably won’t be the fan favorite this time around, as Copenhagen Flames, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Heroic claim this post, since the event will take place on their home grounds.

• Team Spirit: Boris “⁠magixx⁠” Vorobiev & Robert “⁠Patsi⁠” Isyanov
• FURIA: Gabriela “⁠GaBi⁠” Maldonado & André “⁠drop⁠” Abreu
• BIG: Marta “⁠D7⁠” Asensio & Ana “⁠Zana⁠” Queiroz
• NiP: Patrick “⁠es3tag⁠” Hansen & Jonas “⁠calc⁠” Gundersen

FURIA and BIG will be represented by female players

Besides the well-known players, some of the invited teams decided to let players from their women’s teams participate in the tournament. While BIG will be represented by Marta “D7” Asensio and Ana “Zana” Queiroz, Gabriela “GaBi” Maldonado will play together with André “Drop” Abreu for FURIA.

A total of 26 amateur duo teams from the EMEA region and, for the first time, from North America will compete in national and international qualifiers for participation in Red Bull Flick Invitational Copenhagen 2022. The teams that advance will compete in the group stage until only two duos are left.

These two duos will face off against the pro duos on finals day, scheduled for Sunday, November 20.
