The second day of Bali Major’s playoffs stage is over and we now know for sure who are the first 11 teams that will receive a direct invite to The International 12. The 12th team will be decided in the coming days.

Right now, BetBoom are ranked 12th but Quest Esports currently have 632 points. Another 150 would be enough for them to steal their spot. And to secure those points, all they need to do is to finish 4th at the Bali Major. A victory in their next match against Gaimin Gladiators would guarantee their TI12 invite.

Unfortunately for BetBoom, the actions of Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko have resulted in a default loss against Tundra Esports followed by another defeat in the lower bracket.

They would have been qualified for TI12 by now if it wasn’t for the famous stream-watching incident. But under the current circumstances, it looks like they will need to qualify for The International by winning the regional qualifier. Because Quest Esports look more than capable of finishing in the top 4.

The 11 qualified teams

These are the teams that have already received a direct invite to The International 2023:

  • Team Liquid
  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • Tundra Esports
  • Evil Geniuses
  • 9Pandas
  • PSG.LGD
  • Shopify Rebellion
  • Talon Esports
  • Beastcoast
  • Team Spirit
  • TSM

So far, only one Chinese team has qualified and it’s next to impossible for a second one to finish in the top 12.

Surprisingly, both of the South American teams that we’ve seen this season at every DPC Major finished in the top 12. This means that a third SA team will have the opportunity to compete at The International. The same thing is true for North America. With Shopify Rebellion and TSM qualified, nouns will have an excellent opportunity to qualify as well.

Southeast Asia is only represented by Talon Esports at the moment. We’ll have to see who else can qualify. Most likely, it will be either Bleed Esports or Execration. Blacklist International are also strong enough to succeed, but their odds are not as good.

Eastern Europe will send three teams to the big event: 9Pandas, Team Spirit, and most probably BetBoom Esports. But given everything we’ve seen from them in recent months, they might be cursed to miss the event.

Western Europe will send the highest number of participants. Three teams are already qualified and the 4th will be the winner of the WEU qualifier.
