The CS2 competitive scene is in full swing, and we have that; with the end of the season just around the corner, many teams are making some changes to try to put together a powerful squad that will allow them to fight for everything in the next season.

This time, we jump the pond to land on Brazilian soil, where paiN Gaming has just announced the signing of Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira and Lucas “nqz” Soares. There is no doubt that paiN managed to move quickly, as nqz is a desirable talent for other Brazilian organizations.

paiN Gaming announces the signing of nqz and n1ssim

Through a post on its official Twitter/X account, paiN Gaming announced the signing of nqz and n1ssim, with a roster full of talent and experience.

This pair of moves in the Brazilian esports organization comes after Felipe “skullz” Medeiros left the squad for his possible move to Team Liquid. Meanwhile, Cássio “cass1n” Santos is sent to the team’s bench, so he is looking for a new home.

paiN is one of the teams expected to make many changes to its CS2 roster at the beginning of the new era. It is no secret to anyone that this Brazilian squad has not shown an excellent level of play throughout 2023. However, the team managed to stay afloat by simply qualifying for the Paris Major.

In this tournament, the only significant and Tier 1 tournament in which the paiN Gaming boys participated in 2023, they reached the Challengers Stage. After this disappointing result, where they did not win a single match, they decided to make a triple change in their squad. Eventually, the team dropped to #99 in the world ranking, according to HLTV.

Can n1ssim replace skullz?

Nqz is paiN’s star signing in this move, as he is a prodigy talent with AWP and was also sought after by other South American teams. However, the question on many people’s minds is whether n1ssim can replace skullz in the squad.

Remember that skullz, along with Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt, were the pillars of paiN during the last year. That is why the spotlight could be on n1ssim, who will have to fill the shoes left by a skullz who, without a doubt, was one of the most loved by the fans.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that these moves reunite two former teammates: nqz and Lucas “lux” Meneghini. These players previously played under the B4 and DETONA banners.
