Allegedly, talks between xQc and the VALORANT team he originally wanted to sign have collapsed.

Content creator Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel has been eyeing to sign the North American Challengers League team Turtle Troop, but negotiations to sign the free-agent VALORANT team appear to have collapsed. After other streamers had already picked up VALORANT Teams, the popular creator wanted to be next. But something must have gone wrong in the negotiations.

Problems with Turtle Troop’s contract

There were reports a few weeks ago that the North American VALORANT Challengers League is getting another team signed by a streamer. Other well-known content creators who already have their own VALORANT teams in the league include Ludwig Ahgren and Charles “MoistCr1TiKaL” White Jr.’s as well as Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang, who recently announced his second VALORANT roster, this time all women’s

xQc should become the next streamer to join the NA Challengers League by signing the roster for Turtle Troop. George Geddes has reported that negotiations with Turtle Troop and xQc have collapsed. The report said talks are still ongoing, but both sides are frustrated because the creator didn’t participate in the process.

Turtle Troop struggling in the NA Challengers

Turtle Troop is having a rough time with the NA Challengers. The team, which is currently unorganized, finished 2nd and 3rd in their group, but then just missed out on the mid-season face-off. FaZe Clan, which played in the same group as Turtle Troop, was able to qualify for the tournament because of the round difference.

Still, the team wasn’t the worst in its group or league, finishing ahead of Shopify Rebellion in Group A. In Group B, the tournament was already over for the MAD Lions and OREsports with 1-4 and 0-5 respectively.

The Turtle Troop team snagged five Circuit points from the split, which they need to qualify for the Ascension Tournament. In another split, you have the opportunity to collect more points for the promotion tournament. The winner of the Ascension tournament will be eligible to participate in the VCT Americas League in 2024 and 2025.

Exactly why the talks didn’t lead to anything in the end isn’t clear, but his viewers, who are also VALORANT fans, will probably be a bit disappointed now. Maybe xQc also chose another VALORANT team or just had too much on their plate? Sometimes the ways of streamers and content creators are just unfathomable.
