The Canadian Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel is close to signing an agreement with Turtle Troop, the only free-agent team at the NA Challengers League.

According to independent journalist Max Katz and Dot Esports, the NA Challengers team Turtle Troop is in talks with xQc and his management. XQc is reportedly still in the process of closing the deal, and he will likely host an online watch party to make the signing official.

With over 111.7 million Twitch fans, xQc is one of the most popular online personalities, and the prospect of him owning an esports team will further enhance his standing. Being a member of Team Canada and the Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League and Overwatch World Cup, xQc is no stranger to the competitive gaming scene as well.

After leaving the Overwatch scene, xQc’s love for esports has led him to work with popular esports organizations like Luminosity Gaming and Sentinels as a content creator. After hearing the news, fans have been overwhelmingly supportive of xQc’s decision and have even offered names for his esports team. Fans desire that his squad be known as Juice Esports since he goes by the nickname “the Juicer.”.

xQc is set to join Disguised Toast, Ludwig, and MoistCr1TiKaL in an elite list of team owners.

It is no surprise that Twitch star xQc has decided to join the fray given the recent acquisitions of Challengers by some of the world’s biggest streamers. Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang established his own Valorant team in January, and a few weeks later, they were qualified for the NA Challengers League.

Last month, Ludwig Ahgren and Charles ‘MoistCr1TiKaL’ White’s Moist Esports, a company they jointly own, followed the suit and entered Valorant with the Challengers team BreakThru. While Valorant doesn’t require promotion assistance given to its robust player base, streamer-owned teams will certainly add more excitement to the already vibrant Challengers League, the tier-two division of Valorant’s esports circuit.

The explosive North American team Turtle Troop has been active in the Valorant scene since 2021. After winning the last-chance qualifier in January while still going by the name Squirtle Squad, the team qualified for NA Challengers League Split One. Recently, the squad defeated the Moist Moguls, the team owned by Ludwig and MoistCr1TiKaL.

Turtle Troop now has a 1-2 record in Group A, matching Moist Moguls, Oxygen Esports, and Shopify Rebellion. Nevertheless, given their round differential of -24, they are currently last in the standings.

The active roster of Turtle Troops includes:

  • Jack “Add3r”
  • Peter “Governor”
  • Matthew “Wedid”
  • Anthony “mummAy”
  • Tanner “TiGG”
