Clues to new Overwatch hero on Colosseo?

Meanwhile, there are more and more images from the alpha version of Overwatch 2 and some attentive players have seen that there might be a hint to the next new hero of the sequel on one of the new maps, Colosseo. This hero will probably be called Zephyrus.

It’s already a well-known tradition that the developers of Overwatch are known for hiding Easter eggs in the various maps, where there are clues about the future heroes. For example, there were posters of Junker Queen on the map of Junkertown and many Easter eggs of Sigma could be found on Lijang Tower.

New Hero Hidden on Map?

Some players found hints of a potential new hero on Colosseo, one of the new maps. A Youtuber was one of the first to spot several hints and clues about Zephyrus, the next possible hero, on Colosseo. On the alpha version of the game, players found a poster where two gladiators were fighting each other and it looks like they’re controlled by humans.

One gladiator is called Maximus, and the other Zephyrus. Master Ian Gamer found a bar in the game where a screen was on. On it he was able to find out more information about the fighting gladiators and about the character design of Zephyrus.

Hints on Zephyrus

Next to his name “Zephyrus” you can also see an Italian flag. Therefore, it is possible that Zephyrus is an Italian or possibly fights for Italy. Whereas Zephyrus is actually the name of a Greek god, so it would also make sense if he was Greek.

To make everything even more confusing, it looks like one is wearing traditional Polish armor. It could be that it’s just a design flaw, or it could be a reference to the story of Zephyrus. So far, however, all of this is pure speculation and nothing has been confirmed. One thing that stands out is that Zephyrus also has wings on his back that look like the ones Mercy has. It could well be that he’s using them to fly.

It could well be that he can fly with them. Also, it looks like he carries two swords as weapons, which is a brand new feature in Overwatch. Although fans are excited about a potential new hero, it looks like we’ll have to be patient for now. Because after the release of Sojourn, a new character is pretty low for now. In fact, Blizzard confirmed some time ago that only one new hero would be added upon the release of Overwatch 2.
