European squads MOUZ and Eternal Fire were responsible for some of the most lopsided games in Counter-Strike Major history on the second day of the PGL Copenhagen Major Elimination Stage.

Eternal Fire Upset FaZe Clan In Convincing Fashion

The Best of 1 matchup between Eternal Fire and FaZe Clan in the 1-1 pool was one of the most anticipated matchups in the second day of the Major Elimination Stage. These two teams have always produced intense and entertaining games when going head-to-head, but it was not the case today.

The veto ended with Overpass, not the best map for both teams. Coming into the matchup karrigan and company only had a meager 25% win rate on the map in the past three months. Eternal Fire was also not looking too good on Overpass, losing 4-13 against GamerLegion in their last venture.

The Turkish superstars were off to a flying start, winning the pistol and converting the next two rounds. In Round 4, FaZe looked to make a statement with their first buy round, but woxic quickly shut FaZe’s momentum play with a clean AWP retake.

FaZe could not get anything going in the first half, as Wicadia and XANTARES were locking down bomb sites. The first half ended 11-1 in favor of Eternal Fire.

After winning the second pistol round, the Turks ended the map 13-1, humiliating the number one team in the world.

FaZe Clan has been sent to the drawing board, as they are facing elimination with their 1-2 record.

MOUZ Win Fastest Bo3 Series In Major History?

We thought a 13-1 scoreline would not be replicated anymore in the CS2 Major, but we were wrong. Right after the FaZe – Eternal Fire series, MOUZ and Complexity played a Best of 3 in the 2-0 pool, with the winner qualifying for the Playoffs.

The first map of the series was Complexity’s pick of Overpass. Similar to FaZe Clan, EliGE and the crew could not find any footing on their Terrorist side, only managing one round at the half. MOUZ’s torzi and xertioN had very impactful rounds to shut down Complexity’s offense from getting started at all. The young squad of MOUZ proceeded to win the second pistol round to close the map 13-1.

Complexity was supposed to be able to gather some rounds on Ancient, as they were starting on the Counter-Terrorist side. However, the 17-year-old prodigy, Jimpphat, was having the game of his life, hitting headshots left and right.

MOUZ only allowed Complexity to again, win only one round, in the first half. The Finnish juvenile ended the first half 19-5; absolutely mind-blowing. Complexity managed to win the second pistol round, but a force buy proved successful for MOUZ, allowing the European roster to win the map 13-2.

The series ended with a combined score of 26-3, with MOUZ publicly shaming Complexity in one of the most one-sided games in Tier 1 Counter-Strike history. MOUZ’s youngster, Jimpphat, who is playing in his first Counter-Strike Major, posted a 2.00 rating in the most crucial match of his life, ending the series with a K/D of 34-11 to push MOUZ to the top eight.

Still, the North American squad will have chances to redeem themselves, sitting at a comfortable 2-1 standing.
