LEGO launches the first esports set

LEGO has unveiled the new LEGO City sets, available from January 1. The selection in 2023 seeks to reflect life from the most contemporary city.

The first LEGO esports set has arrived in all toy stores as a mobile vehicle for tournaments. The Lego City Gaming Tournament Truck features gamers competing in esports tournaments with wheels, weapons, a screen, and a trophy.

The Lego City Gaming Tournament Truck is an extraordinary selection of Lego construction sets in “Wonderland Models.” It went on sale for a price of €39.99. Lego says on its website that the playset is for children over seven years old, but we are sure it is suitable for all esports lovers.

The set is packed with features for imaginative play. Open the truck to reveal a stage with two toy computer game stations. This includes an arena screen with a fun animation feature.

Furthermore, the toy truck includes great accessories and products for gamers, such as winner’s trophy, a microphone, a cell phone, or gaming items such as two giant fists and a sword.

The new Lego truck comprises 344 pieces, reminiscent of Big Betty, a car that functions as a mobile esports arena.

On its website, Lego commented:

“The Lego City Gaming Tournament Truck is loaded with equipment for staging imaginary gaming competitions. Children can animate the game action on the toy stadium screen and adjust the progress bar of competing for Minifigures for added excitement.”

First revisions

By looking at Gaming Tournament Truck (60388), here are the first revisions of the set:

• The esports truck is 13 cm high, 33 cm long, and 6 cm wide.
• The characters appear as mini figurines on the giant screen in the background.
• The screen moves from side to side.
• Opening one side of the truck reveals the hand controllers, where the characters’ health bars can be moved.
• The included mini figurines feature the tournament host and a member of the audience with details printed on the back of their shorts and a pair of alternate faces.
