How to play Lich in Dota 2 patch 7.33c

Historically, Lich has always been a strong hero against lineups that like to use a tight formation. His ultimate can completely destroy such lineups and force them to retreat in the middle of a big fight. In turn, this gives his team a significant advantage.

Lich has also been strong against heroes that rely almost exclusively on physical damage to get the job done. For example, if a team uses both Juggernaut and Templar Assassin, having a Lich on your team is a great idea because his Frost Shield is absolutely amazing.

Right now, Lich is one of the most successful support heroes in the game. His win rate is 53.4% and his pick rate is 11.8%. These statistics clearly indicate that Lich is a must-have option if you’re a support specialist.

What makes Lich strong in Dota 2 patch 7.33c

Lich is strong for many reasons. His Q, Frost Blast, deals 360 damage to the primary target and an additional 200 damage to its nearby targets in a 200 radius area. Everyone’s movement speed is slowed by 25%. The attack speed is also slowed by 60. The debuffs last for 4s.

What’s great about Frost Blast is its cooldown, which is only 7 seconds. This means that you can spam this ability and deal 280 damage every 7s at level 5 if you choose to put 3 points in it. And you’ll probably have the mana for it because of Sinister Gaze, which drains 10% of the target’s mana.

Using Frost Shield, Lich can make an ally highly resistant to physical damage (60%). Any enemy around him will take 50 damage per second and have its movement speed slowed by 35%. The duration of the shield is 8 seconds. Of course, all of these are level 4 numbers.

The ultimate of this hero is incredibly strong and can be cast every 60 seconds at level 3. The damage is 250 / 400 / 550 per hit and the orb of frost will bounce up to 10 times. This means that at level 6, if Lich can catch two enemy heroes close to each other, he can deal 2500 damage in total. That’s an enormous amount and will easily win you a fight.

On top of that damage, with each bounce, the damage of the orb increases by 15 / 20 / 25.
