Hungry love doesn’t last! It happened with the ex-Copenhagen Flames lineup, who decided to disband the team after a month and a half of the original organization announcing its bankruptcy.

The reality is that this news was only to be expected, as a lineup competing in Tier 2 tournaments with no organization to support isn’t easy to maintain over time. The guys from Ex-Copenhagen Flames tried by all means available, but they did not catch another organization’s attention and ended their journey.

Ex-Copenhagen Flames disbanded

Now that the season is on its summer break, organizations are beginning to change their roster for the remainder. However, it is now more important than ever to make moves, as very soon the transition to CS2 will begin, and all teams must prepare as best as possible.

Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg, former rifler of ex-Copenhagen Flames, announced on his Twitter account that the lineup was disbanded, and all players are exploring options to get a new home.

This is very hard news for the team members, as they had been together for ten months when Copenhagen Flames signed them. In a great show of teamwork and harmony among them, the five players decided to play without organization during the last month of the season. Copenhagen Flames announced its bankruptcy in May, and all the organization’s players were left without any support.

After a month and a half of playing under the Ex-CPHF banner, the players have decided to say goodbye to this journey to venture on new paths. While they had an excellent performance at the Elisa Invitational Spring 2023, as they finished in second place, this was their last game together.

The lineup was very strong at the time

There is no doubt that this Danish lineup had great performances playing for Copenhagen Flames. Speaking specifically about Tier 2 tournaments in Europe, the Danes managed to make a place for themselves among the top teams, so much so that they won CCT events three times at the end of the 2022 season.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that the team had excellent participation in many online tournaments. As a result, they climbed up to #24 in the HLTV World Rankings at the end of 2022.

However, in the first six months of 2023, the team did not have the expected success. Beyond qualifying for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown and second place at the Elisa Invitational Winter and Elisa Invitational Spring, the boys failed to win any of the tournaments they played.

Finally, their last cartridge was burned in the European RMR for the Paris Major. They could not win any three matches they played in the closed qualifiers.

Now that we are in an offseason period, we will see if ex-Copenhagen Flames players get a new home in Tier 2 or even Tier 1 team.
