The analysts’ predictions have proved to be correct. PSG.LGD and Team Secret, two of the giants that were expected to get excellent results at TI10 and potentially win the Aegis of Champions, have secured top 3 spots and will meet in the Upper Bracket Final on October 16th (Saturday).

TI10 Main Event Partial Results

So far, the results of The International 10’s Main Event have mostly been the expected ones. Only two teams got disappointing results: Evil Geniuses and OG.

EG

Fly’s team did quite well in the Group Stage but then messed up in the 2nd game of the last series against Undying and failed to force a tiebreaker for the final Upper Bracket spot. Thrown in the Lower Bracket of TI10’s Main Event, EG defeated Elephant in the first round but then lost to Vici Gaming in the second round. This was an unexpected defeat for multiple reasons.

First of all, EG finished the DPC 2021 in first place with amazing results, including a Grand Final participation at both Majors. Then, in the Group Stage of TI10, the NA squad defeated Vici Gaming with a score of 2 – 0. And finally, in this Lower Bracket match in which it got eliminated, it started with a dominant victory in game 1, which ended after just 22 minutes. Looking at the statistics, nobody would have guessed the result.

OG

OG’s disappointing result is of a different nature. The team is still in the race and looking quite strong right now. Everyone who encounters it in the Lower Bracket is going to have a hard match. But given that Ceb’s team is the champion of the last two editions of The International, it’s a bit disappointing to see them fall to the Lower Bracket so soon. OG played just one match in the Upper Bracket, against Team Secret, and got demolished.

To be fair, Puppey’s roster then went on to decimate Invictus Gaming and has surpassed its best TI result in its 8-year history. In 2019, Secret finished 4th after a great run that was ended by Liquid. This time, however, the team has already secured a top 3 finish and will get 2 shots at playing in the Grand Final. This almost guarantees that we will see Puppey competing for the Aegis of Champions again. Except this time, it’s for a lot more money than before.
