Sweden-based esports organization 9INE has announced extending the contract with their Polish players for the upcoming transition to CS2.

9INE has been one of the teams making the most progress in recent months in the competitive CS:GO scene. While the Poles had a 0-3 record in the Legends Stage, the team got the pleasant surprise of qualifying in first place in the European RMR Bs, ahead of teams like Heroic, Team Vitality, and G2 Esports.

Now, months before the transition of all teams to the new era of Counter-Strike 2 begins, 9INE has decided to stay in Poland with its full lineup and start preparing for the qualifiers for the PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major. Recall that this will be the first Major in the Counter-Strike 2 era and will be played in March 2024.

9INE renews the contract of its Polish players

Swedish esports organization, 9INE, has announced that they are staying in Poland with their CS:GO lineup for all tournaments for the remainder of the 2023 season to prepare for what will be CS2.

As we mentioned, the organization aims for the team to qualify for the PGL CS2 Copenhagen Major 2024. In addition, they also noted that they hope that the guys will be able to participate in all Level 1 tournaments that will be held before the transition.

The current 9INE lineup was signed by the Swedish organization in August 2022, after nine months where the CS:GO division was completely inactive. Wiktor “mynio” Kruk was one of the first players to join the team in 2022, but there is no doubt that the signing of Olek “hades” Miskiewicz in January this year was the icing on the cake in the team’s development this season.

9INE had spectacular performances at the IEM Rio and the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. In addition, the team managed to qualify for the Legends Stage of the Paris Major after a spectacular RMR, where they beat G2 Esports, BIG, and Team Vitality.

Excellent 2023 for 9INE

While the team had truly spectacular teamwork, there is no doubt that Vertigo has been their best map so far in 2023. The team was ranked 44th in the HLTV world rankings at the beginning of the year. However, after their great performances and qualification for the Paris Major, the team is ranked 17th.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that 9INE became the first Polish team in five years to manage to qualify for a CS:GO Major sponsored by Valve. Unfortunately, while this certainly gave them a huge boost in every way, the team could not replicate their RMR performance in the main event and fell to Team Liquid, Team GamerLegion, and FaZe clan.

Finally, 9INE’s lineup for the remainder of the 2023 season and the start of 2024 is as follows:

  • Kamil “KEi” Pietkun
  • Krzysztof “Goofy” Górski
  • Kacper “Kylar” Walukiewicz
  • Wiktor “mynio” Kruk
  • Olek “hades” Miskiewicz
  • Piotr “nawrot” Nawrocki – Head Coach
