The CS:GO community does not stop receiving daily news regarding what will happen in the new era of Valve’s shooter. After the game, developers recently announced that the BLAST.tv Paris Major would be the last Major in the CS:GO era; we now have a date for the first major Counter-Strike 2 event.

First of all, it is worth noting that PGL will be in charge of organizing the first major tournament in the Counter-Strike 2 era. But, on the other hand, there is no doubt that they have chosen the best place to do it, Copenhagen, Denmark.

PGL to host the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024

PGL officially announced that they will organize the first Major in the Counter-Strike 2 era in March 2024, the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen.

As mentioned in the Tweet, the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen will occur from March 17-31 next year. With this, Copenhagen will host the first Major of the new title’s history, despite not hosting any Major in CS:GO.

As in the last editions of the Majors in CS:GO, in the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024, we will have the participation of 24 teams. On the other hand, we cannot deny that PGL has a resounding success regarding CS:GO, Majors. Remember that the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 was the most-watched event of this esports in history, while the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 was the largest indoor event, hosting up to 20,000 spectators.

The 24 teams that will participate in this event will fight for a share of the juicy $1,250,000 prize pool, and they will also have the trophy of the champions of the first CS2 Major in history in their trophy cabinets.

Deserved prize for Denmark

There is no doubt that the PGL has made the right choice in selecting Denmark, specifically Copenhagen, as the host of this event. As mentioned, this will be the first time this country, which has produced exceptional and highly successful CS:GO players and teams, will host a Major of Valve’s shooter.

The majestic Royal Arena, located in Copenhagen, will be in charge of hosting the first major event of one of the titles that the Counter-Strike community has been waiting for a long time. According to Silviu Stroie, the CEO of PGL, the organizers’ goal is to break all audience records in the history of esports.

We do not doubt that PGL will ensure that the first Major in the CS2 era is phenomenal and will be remembered by players and fans alike. However, this is about a year away, so we must focus on the upcoming competitions in the CS:GO scene.

The RMR for the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 will start in the coming weeks, with teams fighting for a spot in the last CS:GO Major in its history starting on May 21, 2023.
