For the second consecutive Split, MAD Lions managed to advance to the Grand Final to look for their pass, which completely deserved for the next MSI. The Spanish team beat Team Vitality 3-1 in a spectacular series played by Javier “Elyoya” Prades.

What seemed almost impossible ended up happening, as Elyoya defeated Team Vitality’s Jungler, Zhou “Bo” Yangbo. So now, the Lions will play the grand final of the LEC Spring Split 2023 with the most consistent team in the tournament, Team BDS.

MAD Lions beat Team Vitality to reach the Spring Split Grand Final

MAD Lions did not let Team Vitality breathe for a second in this Lower Bracket final match, and, thanks to this, they managed to get into the Spring Split 2023 Grand Final. In addition, the Spanish team more than proved that their victory against G2 Esports was not a product of luck or coincidence, as the Spanish Jungler, Elyoya, crushed the French team.

The series began with MAD Lions overwhelming Team Vitality, thanks to the Spaniard, Elyoya. The MAD Lions Jungler managed to make his team play at his pace and disposition, and thanks to this, they got a great victory to open the series. On the other hand, Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer also had a great match, as he showed a great level with Ahri and, with 13 kills, he managed to be fundamental for his team’s first victory.

In the second map, we all thought that MAD Lions could continue at the spectacular level they showed before. However, Team Vitality could react to the blow and hit back greatly. This time, Luka “Perkz” Perković was the hero for the French side. One of the most experienced players on the scene demonstrated a fluidity in his game with Tistana that evened the series 1-1.

Elyoya is decisive again

While Team Vitality’s response was strong, and the series was tied 1-1, MAD Lions quickly shook off that defeat and excellently composed themselves in the third game. The Spanish Jungler, Elyoya, once again had a masterful game and, without a doubt, every single approach MAD Lions made revolved around this player who, without a doubt, was having one of the best nights of his life. This time, the Spaniard gave a spectacular lesson on how to use Lee Sin in the Summoner’s Rift.

With the score 2-1 ahead, MAD Lions had two chances to seal their qualification to the grand final, and they had to take advantage in the fourth game. The Spanish team, aware that they had to finish the series as soon as possible, made a selection of champions. Elyoya took Vi, Nisqy to Twisted Fate, and Kim “Chasy” Dong-Hyeon to Kennen. However, Team Vitality responded immediately with the formula that led them to victory in the second match, Perkz’s Tristana.

However, this time they would not have the same luck as in that match, as Chasy was in charge of nullifying all the chances of the French. In the end, MAD Lions took the 3-1 victory and became LEC finalists for the second consecutive Split.
