Regarding viewership numbers relative to all other FPS games, Riot Games’ tactical shooter, VALORANT, has swept 2022 on today’s most popular streaming platform, Twitch.

According to data compiled by data analytics company Stream Charts, VALORANT has topped the Twitch chart for 2022.

VALORANT gets all the attention

VALORANT has captured the most attention from the esports community concerning tactical FPSs this 2022. The data shows that VALORANT accumulated more than 1.1 billion viewing hours from January 1 to December 18.

If we look closer, this figure is almost double that of the popular CS:GO, which has 684 million hours viewed.

Similarly, Valve’s FPS has overtaken VALORANT in terms of highest viewership figures, with a peak of 1.6 million viewers, while Epic’s Fortnite was in second place.

Gaules and Tarik

VALORANT and CS:GO share the best streamers on the Twitch broadcasting platform. Brazilian Gaules in CS:GO, and American Tarik in VALORANT are the top streamers in FPS video games.

Gaules has achieved more than 126 million hours viewed, while Tarik has 69 million total hours on the platform.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that Tarik is an active professional VALORANT player and used to broadcast the qualifying games to his fans, as well as the official matches of the Valorant Champions Tour 2022. This undoubtedly boosted the audience of his channel.

About VALORANT

VALORANT is still in its best moment because since its launch, it has not stopped growing in every way, and right now, it has one of the most solid player bases within the esports scene.

That is why many personalities have decided to dedicate themselves to creating content in this title since it is considered very lucrative compared to other FPS.

Competitively speaking, Riot’s shooter, VALORANT, has not yet managed to unseat Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in terms of the number of viewers, but no wonder. CS:GO is one of the longest-running esports on the scene.

Riot Games has made official a series of changes in the structure of its different tournaments for 2023. This intends to organize a more significant event annually, allowing this esports to continue growing.

That is why it is expected that VALORANT captures the most outstanding possible attention of the fans and thus overcome this barrier they have placed in 2022.

No surprises

It’s no surprise that this pair of titles have had superior numbers in terms of viewership on the Twitch platform.

Valve and Riot have hit the nail on the head by turning this streaming platform into their official channels for their big tournaments of the year, the IEM Rio Major and Champions Istanbul 2022.

Nostalgia and love prevail in CS:GO fans who, after ten years since its launch, continue to captivate the hearts of millions of players around the world.
