Here is everything you need to know about the VCT Champions 2023 Last Cance Qualifiers, including the format, schedule, and participating teams.

Fnatic has been crowned the winner of the VCT Masters Tokyo and now fans are looking forward to Valorant Champions 2023. The Valorant Champions, which will take place in Los Angeles from August 6 to 26, will include sixteen of the top teams in the globe from EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and China.

Nine of the 16 places are already filled by the top teams from the VCT leagues, leaving the other teams no choice but to compete in the cutthroat last-chance qualifiers to get a spot at the Valorant Champions. Pacific, EMEA, and Americas will each feature seven franchised teams that will compete in their respective LCQ (Last Chance Qualification) tournaments to earn a spot in the Valorant Champions 2023.

China will also host LCQ, but not in the same manner. Twelve teams will compete instead of seven, and three of those twelve teams will advance to the season-ending event.

VCT 2023: Americas Last Chance Qualifier

Format

The Americas LCQ will employ a six-team hybrid elimination format, placing the teams ranked third through sixth in a single-elimination Play-In stage.Cloud9 and Leviatán, the top two seeds, will go unopposed to the Upper Bracket Semifinals, where they will face the winners of the Play-in quarterfinals. From the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals onward, the competition will use double-elimination, and all matches—with the exception of the BO5 lower final and grand final—will be played in a BO3 format.

Schedule: 15th to 23rd July

Participating teams:

  • Cloud9
  • Leviatán
  • FURIA Esports
  • Sentinels

After the sad death of their top player, Karel “Twisten” Aenbrener, earlier this month, Team Vitality, who was supposed to compete in the last-chance qualifiers, opted to withdraw from the competition. The community supported the sudden but logical decision to withdraw from the competition, as the loss of the talented 19-year-old player was a tragic event that affected the entire esports industry and went beyond the borders of Valorant.
