NEKIZ joins 00 Nation

In this opportunity, Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato, sent to the paiN Gaming bench a few days ago, found a new home in another Brazilian organization, 00 Nation. This is a move somewhat expected by many in the Brazilian community. Remember that these teams keep a regional core to preserve the language theme. However, the style of Brazilian players tends to be very similar, so NEKIZ will likely fit perfectly in his new home.

00 Nation announce the signing of NEKIZ

Through a statement on its official Twitter account, 00 Nation announced the signing of NEKIZ, the 27-year-old Brazilian rifler, ahead of the year’s second half and, of course, the transition to CS2. As a result, the former paiN Gaming entry fragger will replace Leonardo “n9xtz” Santos, who becomes 00 Nation’s sustitute.

00 Nation decides to sign NEKIZ at a very complicated time for paiN Gaming, a team considering an absolute renewal in the coming days. In addition, it is worth noting that the organization has plans to start a new, completely independent project.

There is no doubt that the signing of NEKIZ brings a bit more experience to this new 00 Nation lineup. While it is true that we have one of the best Brazilian players in history, Marcelo “coldzera” David, the rest of the players are extremely young and do not have the same experience as NEKIZ and coldzera.

NEKIZ has played for major teams such as Luminosity Gaming for two years and on three occasions for paiN Gaming. In addition, the latest foray with paiN came in February 2023, after the organization released its IGL, Vinicios “PKL” Coelho. As a result, the team, under the leadership of NEKIZ as IGL, increased their level of play considerably and even climbed to #13 in the HLTV world rankings. However, the team’s performance declined since they failed to qualify for the Legends Stage at the Paris Major. At the same time, a few days later, they finished in last place at the ESL Challenger Katowice 2023. As a result, the organization decided to overhaul its lineup completely, and NEKIZ was the first casualty.

NEKIZ’s arrival at 00 Nation comes at a time when the Brazilian organization desperately needs an IGL that can lift the team’s spirits. Let’s remember that, with the departure of Epitacio “TACO” de Melo in February 2023, the team’s performance dropped significantly.
