As the Valorant esports scene continues to grow, the battle for regional supremacy has become fiercer than ever. While teams come and go, these are the current power rankings of the major regions based on recent international performances and overall depth of talent.

EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa)

The EMEA region stands atop the Valorant hierarchy as the clear-cut #1 region currently. Their domination has been fueled by an incredible stable of elite teams capable of winning any event. EMEA’s depth across the board is unmatched, with multiple representatives routinely making deep runs at Masters tournaments.

No other region can match EMEA’s excellence and championship pedigree across their cohort of title contenders so far. They have set an incredibly high bar that all other regions are striving to reach.

Pacific

While often overlooked, the Pacific region features some of the fiercest competition in Valorant. This region is a three-headed monster, with powerhouse teams emerging from Korea, China, and Southeast Asia.

Korea serves as the regional hegemon led by dominant rosters like DRX. But China’s giants EDG and Attacking Soul Esports have rapidly risen as significant threats following impressive international showings. The real wild card is Southeast Asia’s Paper Rex, who announced themselves as a force with an explosive, aggressive playstyle.

Each of these three Pacific sub-regions boasts legitimate championship contenders capable of making a run on the grand stage. If they can find greater consistency, the Pacific could soon overtake EMEA’s throne.

Americas (North and South America)

In the Americas, Brazil’s LOUD has been the clear standard-bearer and one of the best teams globally over the past year. Their firepower and structured tactics make them a feared opponent for any squad.

Behind LOUD, North America houses plenty of elite talent spread across teams like OpTic, EG, and NRG. But outside of Brazil and these few NA clubs, the overall depth in the region remains lacking.

The LATAM sub-region has particularly struggled on the international stage, with teams failing to make noise at recent Masters events. More strong rosters need to emerge from LATAM to give the Americas better balance and reputation.

All Other Regions

While EMEA, Pacific, and Americas engage in a three-way tug-of-war over regional supremacy, the other remaining regions of the world have been left behind in Valorant…for now.

Regions like Japan, Southeast Asia, and others simply don’t possess the same level of infrastructure, talent pool, or resources to compete with the current hierarchy. However, that could change rapidly if more investment and development are directed their way.

The beauty of esports is that regions can rise meteorically with the right mix of factors. So while they reside at the bottom today, the other small regions are just a few standout players and organizations away from potentially disrupting the global order.

The Battle Continues

No region can claim a permanent hold over the #1 spot in Valorant esports. The inevitability of roster shuffles, emerging talent, and meta shifts ensures the power rankings will constantly be in flux. As the VCT’s inaugural international season continues to unfold, all eyes will be on which region can make the biggest statement and claim the title of Valorant’s world champion in 2024.
