The Pacific region is the first to complete its Group Stage in the regional Stage 1 tournament. The six remaining teams will battle for three invitations to VCT Masters Shanghai.

Eleven teams in the VCT Pacific Stage 1 tournament were divided into two groups: Group Alpha and Group Omega. Teams from Group Alpha played against teams from Group Omega, and vice versa. Here is a recap of what happened in each group.

Group Alpha

Final standings for Group Alpha:

# Team Win – Loss Map Score Round Score
1. Gen.G Esports 3-3  9-6 173-153
2. Team Secret 3-3 8-8 178-160
3. T1 Esports 2-4 6-9 164-165
4. Global Esports 2-4 6-9 140-162
5. BLEED Esports 1-5 4-11 122-172

Though they didn’t do it cleanly, Gen.G topped Group Alpha. Despite being one of the tournament favorites, the Korean squad could only post a 3-3 record. The Madrid finalists look to redeem themselves in the Playoffs.

Team Secret is arguably the most surprising team of the event. They did not come into the tournament as a powerhouse but picked up a massive win against Paper Rex. Though the Filipinos have the same record as Gen.G, the round differentials resulted in a second-place finish.

T1 has been incredibly underwhelming, considering the firepower the roster boasts. They could only win two matches but still made it to the Playoffs. Some serious Group Stage format issues exist, but xccurate and the crew advance to the next stage.

Unfortunately, we bid farewell to Global Esports and BLEED Esports. The two teams ended the Group Stage with 2-4 and 1-5 records, respectively.

Group Omega

Final standings for Group Omega:

# Team Win – Loss Map Score Round Score
1. DRX 5-0  10-2 148-97
2. Paper Rex 4-1 8-3 133-100
3. Talon Esports 4-1 8-5 146-138
4. Rex Regum Qeon 3-2 6-6 116-128
5. ZETA DIVISION 2-3 6-8 151-148
6. DetonatioN FocusMe 1-4 5-9 118-166

Everyone expected Paper Rex to claim first place in Group Omega, but DRX had something to say. The new roster has been meshing well together, going undefeated in the Group Stage with an impressive 5-0 record. The South Korean squad ends the first tournament phase on top.

Paper Rex struggled from time to time but still qualified for the Playoffs. It looks like Jinggg is still getting the rust off, as this is his first tournament after a hiatus.

Talon Esports found their form and ended the Group Stage with a 4-1 record. Though they weren’t massive underdogs, seeing them do so well is still shocking. JitBoyS has been performing exceptionally well and is a vital part of the team’s success.

Having six teams in the group means three have been sent packing. Rex Regum Qeon, ZETA Division, and DetonatioN FocusMe were eliminated from the tournament. Japanese Valorant continues to struggle, while RRQ is showing some decent potential.

Onto The Playoffs

Six teams fought their way through the Group Stage in hopes of making the Playoffs. The top three teams will compete in the next international Valorant tournament, VCT Masters Shanghai.

The Playoff bracket is as follows:

The top seeds of each group will skip a match, meaning they will only need to win one series to secure an invite to China.

After the Knockout Round, the remaining teams will play in a double-elimination format, meaning each participant will have two lives.

All matches will be played in Best-of-3 format except for the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, which will be played in Best-of-5 format.
