Twisted Minds & Invictus are last two to qualify for BLAST.tv Paris Major Asia RMR

Last Sunday, February 26, 2023, the last two qualifiers for the RMR APAC for BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 was defined. In the Middle East qualifiers, Invictus and Twisted Minds managed to seal the only two tickets up for grabs in this tournament.

Invictus managed to secure their place in the RMR without any problem, winning all their matches in the Upper Bracket. On the other hand, Twisted Minds had to go through the entire Lower Bracket to qualify. Finally, however, they swept all the teams and sealed their ticket. These two teams join the six teams already guaranteed a spot from the other regional qualifiers.

Twisted Minds sweeps the Lower Bracket to seal their ticket to the RMR

Twisted Minds made it to the Upper Bracket Semifinals and crushed Ooredoo Thunders by a score of 16-10 in Inferno with a Nikola “Lobanjica” Mijomanović and Moustafa “BLACKEAGLE” Baghdadi carrying their team with 1.43 and 1.26 ratings, respectively. However, when they reached the Upper Bracket Final, they were crushed by Invictus International 2-0 (16-9 on Vertigo and 16-13 on Inferno).

With this, the team had to fight from the Lower Bracket with no second chances. Ooredoo Thunders, who had recovered from the loss to Twisted Minds, managed to play the match for a rematch. But, this time, the ticket to the RMR was at stake, not a simple advancement to the next round. But history repeated itself, as Twisted Minds didn’t let the series unravel as they took victories over Overpass (16-7) and Anubis (16-12) to take the second spot to the RMR. Ahmad “SpAwNns” Kanaan carried his team in this match and finished with a 1.43 rating, a K-D of +13, and an ADR of 92.2.

On the other hand, Invictus Gaming International had little to no problems in this tournament. The team crushed all their opponents and did not lose a single map.

Lag problems in the qualifiers

Being online qualifiers, there can be different problems related to the ping of the players. The distance of the game server from the teams’ locations mainly influences this happening worldwide.

The South African teams were affected this time, as they had to play with a high ping due to the qualifiers being held outside their region. Because of this, Goliath Gaming lost 0-16 to Twisted Gaming and then had to give FF in the Lower Bracket match due to electrical problems in their country.

The RMR Asia will be played from April 4-8, 2023, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and the participating teams will be:
