The new era in Riot Games’ tactical shooter, VALORANT Premier, has begun, and since April 25, players have access to the global open beta. This new VALORANT Tournament mode comes to the game with Episode 6, Act 3.

As we mentioned, the official launch of this new tournament mode of the game will be released after the completion of VCT Champions 2023, which will be played in August. Moreover, the main goal of these tournaments is to replace all open qualifiers for events that are part of the VCT.

What do we know so far about VALORANT Premier?

For now, players can test with different teammates or by registering their teams in the VALORANT Premier beta season. On the other hand, it is worth noting that players should base their teams on the closest regions they have and, of course, on the average ranking concerning the skill of the rest of the players.

The seasons will last a few weeks, and the goal of each registered team will be to advance to the playoff tournament and thus compete for the title of Division Champion.

Players who want to create the team must select a name, tag, logo, and colors. In addition, all team players must verify their accounts via SMS. Moreover, they should keep in mind that the players’ accounts must be fully active, i.e., they must have completed qualifying matches since the creation of this account.

Players who want to participate in the beta season must ensure their teammates have enough time for the matches. Remember that the windows available for the tournament will be completely different according to the players’ time zone.

VALORANT Premier beta season schedule

As we mentioned, the registration period is from April 25 to 28; you still have enough time to register your team for the beta season. However, during this phase, a tournament will be played on May 3, which will be a kind of test of the system.

Also, it is worth remembering that teams need 375 points to advance to the end-of-season event and how to score points in the next season:

  • Victory: 100 points
  • Loss: 25 points

Week 1 – Map: Ascent

  • April 29
  • May 1

“Test Tournament”

  • May 3

Week 2 – Map: Pearl

  • May 6
  • May 8 “Test Tournament

Week 3 – Map: Bind

  • May 13
  • May 15 – Map: Haven

Week 4 – Map: Haven

  • May 20

Playoff

  • May 21

As we can see, there are two tournaments (Test and Playoff) with no pre-selected map, unlike the rest that have one. This means the classic ban/pick format will be used in these events until the map to be played is selected.

This Tournament mode will attract as many people as possible who want to test themselves and their opponents on a more “professional” level. In addition, the fact that Riot Games is organizing it is a great way to show that they want to bring esports to all corners of the world.
