Riot Games, the maker of the popular FPS title Valorant, announced in June 2021 that a mobile game counterpart for their 5v5 multiplayer tactical shooter is in the works. Valorant’s creator and publisher, however, did not provide a precise release date for the game.

Following a two-year wait, we have some reliable evidence suggesting that the eagerly awaited FPS game will launch on mobile very soon. Multiple files from Valorant Mobile are allegedly included in the Valorant Public Beta Environment Patch, which is expected to begin rolling out with the 6.06 update, according to credible data miner ValorLeaks.

The reports also state that Riot Games will officially start making plans for the launch of the tactical shooter’s mobile version in the upcoming months, with the beta for Valorant Mobile reportedly unveiled sooner than expected. ValorLeaks also revealed a screenshot of the Valorant Mobile game’s interface, which could be customized in a manner similar to other first-person shooter games.

An in-person playtest was reportedly scheduled to take place in Guangzhou, China, later this month, according to another online report from a different source. By conducting such a test, the developers would be able to road-test the most recent build of the game and get user feedback while reducing the likelihood that it would be leaked to the public.

Meanwhile, if the developer follows a strategy similar to that of Wild Rift, Valorant Mobile will initially launch at the beta stage in a few limited regions before the full version makes its official debut.

What do we know so far about Valorant mobile?

This is not the first time that fans have heard the news that Valorant would likely be released on mobile devices soon. On April 7, 2022, reputable Valorant leaker DannyINTEL shared a number of screenshots of the loading screens and an actual in-game snapshot that reveals the mobile user interface of Valorant. Danny also showed off the Agent selection screen, which features a number of Agents that are playable during playtests, including Jett, Phoenix, Reyna, Breach, Skye, Sova, and Killjoy.

Despite leaks and reports, the Mobile version of Valorant has not yet received an official release date. Given that Riot Games has already experienced commercial success with mobile versions of some of its popular games, including League of Legends: Wild Rift and Legends of Runeterra, it will be intriguing to see what Riot has in store for fans who are eagerly anticipating the competitive tactical shooter.
