G2 Esports beat Dplus Kia at Worlds 2023 kickoff

The Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage is underway, and the best League of Legends teams are fighting tooth and nail to go as far as possible in this end-of-season tournament.

G2 Esports kicks off Worlds 2023 on the right foot

While it is true that the vast majority of the matches on Day 1 of the Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage had “predictable” outcomes, there is no doubt that this G2 vs. Dplus KIA had all the makings of a very balanced match.

Another point to note regarding G2 Esports’ victory is that they could display their style and approach to play against an LCK opponent and succeed. However, this is not to say that the Samurai’s match was perfect, as the team had ups and downs. However, at the end of the match, they could stand up to the dangerous Koreans to take the win.

What’s next for G2 at Worlds 2023?

After starting with an extraordinary victory in the Swiss Stage, G2 continues in Round 2 in the winner’s bracket. In this round, G2 will face Weibo Gaming which comes from defeating NRG on the tournament’s first day.

In this match, the LEC champions will have the opportunity to put their record at 2-0 and thus be just one win away from the playoffs. However, Weibo Gaming is a tough team; from what we have seen in the last few months, the LPL teams’ level is extremely high.
