Sentinels’ VALORANT player TenZ has issued an apology for the pre-order campaign of his TenZ Secret Mouse, which was launched on his website on Nov. 27. The mouse was priced at €179, or roughly $196, and had no finalized shape, specs, or weight. TenZ acknowledged that the campaign was “super ambitious” and that it was a “stretch to attempt to sell a mouse that had no finalized shape, specs, or weight.”

TenZ’s apology post also attempted to clarify that the mouse project was not a “quick cash grab” and that the mouse is still being developed. He also froze any future pre-orders and offered those who have already pre-ordered a choice between a full refund or keeping the purchase. The apology post included a “super early prototype” of the mouse’s shape, which was posted on Twitter.

TenZ apologizes for selling a $200 mouse without a final design

The TenZ Secret Mouse had 20,000 presale units available, with a shipping ETA of Summer 2024. The mouse’s store page listed several confirmed features, but the ambidextrous shape was noted as a “work-in-progress” with more design updates to be revealed “soon” on TenZ’s Discord channel.

Despite the high price point and non-finalized details, there are still fans willing to spend on TenZ’s dream mouse, especially now that they’ve seen the prototype image. However, the long wait time and the lack of finalized details did not sit well with some fans.

In summary, TenZ’s apology post addressed the mixed reactions to the pre-order campaign of his TenZ Secret Mouse, which was launched with no finalized shape, specs, or weight. The mouse project is still being developed, and updates will be available to those who care. Future pre-orders have been frozen, and those who have already pre-ordered have the option of a full refund or keeping the purchase.
