While it is true that the DPC Tour 3 is still starting in all regions of the world and, from now on, teams will start qualifying for The International 12, one team has already achieved it, Team Liquid.

The team playing in the DPC WEU has managed to seal their qualification for TI12, being the only team, so far, to achieve this. This results from the amount of points the team has accumulated so far.

Team Liquid is the only team to have qualified for TI12 so far

Thanks to the team’s excellent performance in Tour 1 and 2, the DPC WEU, and participation in the Berlin Major, Team Liquid became the first qualifier for The International 12.

The WEU team earned the missing DPC Points to qualify for TI12 when it defeated 9Pandas 2-1 on May 7 in the Lower Bracket final of the Berlin Major. Thanks to this, the team earned 1500 DPC Points and qualified.

Team Liquid managed to win the champion trophy in the DPC WEU Division I Tour 1 and 2, and, thanks to this, the team earned 700 DPC Points. In addition, they finished in second place in the two Majors that have been played so far, the Lima Major (350 DPC Points) and the Berlin Major (450 DPC Points).

There is no doubt that, right now, Team Liquid is a team to be reckoned with for the next TI12.

When writing this article, Team Liquid remains at the top of the overall DPC 2023 leaderboard with 1500 points. But, then, we have Gaimin Gladiators with 1240 points, Talon Esports with 1020 points, EG with 970 points, and closes the TOP 5 9Pandas with 896 points.

Tour 3 will define the rest of the qualifiers

The 2023 DPC season is already in its final stretch, as teams play Tour 3 in their respective divisions. In addition, the Bali Major has yet to be played, so teams still have the opportunity to score the necessary points in these two tournaments to qualify for The International 12. On the other hand, Team Liquid, with the 1500 DPC Points it has, ensures to finish the ranking within the top 12 places.

According to the ranking format used by Valve for The International, out of the 18 participating teams, 12 of them will be invited directly according to their positions in the 2023 Season Ranking. In addition, they will be joined by one more team from each region that will qualify through regional qualifiers.

While Valve has not yet announced the total number of teams that will be invited directly to TI12, we must consider that, as of the 2021-22 season, these criteria remain the same. As a result, everything should be just as it was in TI11.
