One of Counter-Strike’s great legends, Robert “RobbaN” Dahlström, announced that he is stepping down as Head Coach of FaZe Clan after being part of the team for the past five years.
This is somewhat unexpected news for the CS:GO community, as it seemed that this team would continue to work together heading into the transition to CS2. However, RobbaN’s decision comes as he wants to pursue “new challenges” in his career as a professional.
RobbaN announces he is leaving FaZe Clan
Through an official statement on his Twitter account, the 38-year-old Swede, RobbaN, announced that, after a long period in FaZe Clan, he decided to stop being the Head Coach of the team. Furthermore, in the announcement, RobbaN hints that this is about an imminent retirement from the CS:GO competitive scene. However, he then leaves the doors open for a possible return to CS2.
After many years of coaching, I’ve decided it’s time to move on to the next challenge. This decision hasn’t been easy to make but, in the end, I feel this is the right way to go. I’m very proud of all the players I have coached during my time and all the trophies that we have…

In the announcement, RobbaN thanks all the players and FaZe Clan for all these years on the team. In addition, he also thanks his family for all the support during all these years. However, in the last lines of the message, the Swede refers to the fact that “there is a lot to look forward to with the arrival of CS2, ” indicating that he would be willing to return with the new game.
Let’s remember that RobbaN, during his entire career as Head Coach, lifted 11 trophies in top-level CS:GO LAN tournaments, including the one everyone wants to win, the Intel Grand Slam.
About RobbaN
There is no doubt that RobbaN was one of the main reasons for FaZe Clan’s success over the past few years. Of course, the talent of the team’s players is undeniable, but with an experienced and knowledgeable coach like RobbaN, everything was easier for Finn “karrigan” Andersen and his teammates.
Throughout the entire run with FaZe Clan, RobbaN was present for many of the team’s successes, which included many playoffs and second-place finishes. However, the team’s high point came between the 2022/23 seasons, when they managed to win all four tournaments necessary to lift the Intel Grand Slam S4 trophy.
However, not everything was rosy for RobbaN in the FaZe Clan lineup. While the team managed to win the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, they did so without RobbaN as Head Coach. Let’s remember that the Swede was one of the coaches involved in the bug coach scandal, so he had to serve an extensive sanction dictated by Valve.
On the other hand, RobbaN tried to defend himself from this by explaining the situation to Valve and all the fans through a TwitLonger. However, this was not enough for Valve, and they decided to suspend him for a certain period. As a result, RobbaN missed out on FaZe Clan’s victory in the 2022 Major.

There is no doubt that RobbaN will always be remembered as the Head Coach who led FaZe Clan’s best era in CS:GO. In addition, under his leadership, the team was ranked #1 in the world rankings on several occasions.
We wish RobbaN the best of success in his “new challenges.”
